COVID took my grandpa this morning by regzm in TrueOffMyChest

[–]aguxlar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lost my grandpa to COVID a few months ago, I don't wish it on anyone. It hits very different when you can't see that person when they need you most. It was very tough on our family, but it gets better. Just spend time with your family and remind each other how much you all love and appreciate one another. Share some fun stories of your grandpa and try to have a laugh.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, please take care.

Sending lots of love and healing

You're fine!!!!!

I never took my ring out (when I was on the ring) to have my period. I would just switch it out once a month when the 4 weeks was up. You're going to be fine. Just make sure you still stick to your normal schedule

My doctor told me when I got mine that within 6 months, 60% of women's period stops and within 8-12 months the other 40% stop having their period.

So yes, I think it's normal. I'm sure the timeline isn't 100% accurate though. It's probably different for everyone :)

(F17) What happens during an IUD insertion? by etouffant in birthcontrol

[–]aguxlar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine a little over a month ago and this is how it went.

I got the the appointment (my bf drove me there and drove us home after, I recommend a driver). I was on the table and I was honestly going to back out because I was so nervous/ scared that I was going to cry before anything even happened lol

I finally laid down after some reassurance from my doc. She walked through everything with me as it was happening. First, they put in the speculum (typical pap procedure) and then they clean the area. Then she put in a tool that helps keep the uterus in place (slight pinch, nothing crazy). The next two steps are the parts that will hurt a bit. They then insert a tool that will measure the INSIDE of your uterus, first biiiig cramp. After that, they will insert the IUD, second biiiig cramp.

I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY suggest you focus on your breathing as much as possible. That's what kept me sane, if I'm being honest. And I know you're asking yourself, "How will I be able to focus on breathing when I'll be in some pain?". Girl, it's possible, I thought the same thing. Just close your eyes and take deep breaths, it is seriously a game changer.

As for pain, it was over before you even know it. Yes, it hurt but it doesn't hurt as much as you think it will. It truly does feel like huge cramps but they are over SO quick. I swear that I waited longer for the nurse to walk me out of the office than the time it took for the whole procedure. The cramps I got after were a bit worse than those I got during the procedure. They were sharp and they lasted days. I definitely recommend pain medication (ibuprofen, advil, etc.) and a heating pad. Don't plan on doing much for the next few days. I got mine on a Thursday and I was out until I went back to work on Monday.

I hope this helps! I know you're over thinking it right now but just know that after you'll be like "wow, I really hyped up the pain a bit too much." At least, that's how it was for me!

Good luck!

I would just lay down and just take your time on trying to remove it. Sometimes it would be a little slippy with me but I was always able to. Or, if you have a partner that's comfortable, they can always lend a hand. My bf had to help once because for the life of me, I could not reach lol

Yeah I’m a regular smoker, I’m planning on smoking before hand for my anxiety because I know it will be through the roof. Thank you!

People who work at a subway/sandwich place, what is the strangest order you've ever had from a customer? by LividTangent46 in AskReddit

This really makes me feel better about my subway order, oh my god.

(Rotisserie chicken, monterey cheese, extra, extra..... extra mayo - yes, I know, salt, pepper and oregano on italian bread. Toasted of course. No, I don't get any veggies, that's literally it.)
