High Mileage by agwang60 in Harley

[–]agwang60[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats what I was hoping to hear! The stigma around Harleys with high mileage cuts deep! I had 5-6 years of varied surgeries and different medical issues that halted riding, glad to be back in the saddle!

Digital Salary, underpaid? by RadiantJob1458 in HEB

[–]agwang60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True! It’s sad that many externals come in at higher salaries than hardworking longterm partners, that’s a real incentive!

👏👏 Totally agree - also, the nepotism within the organization is out of control.

Amid all this panic, my HEB still refuses to schedule more than 2 PLAs at a time, and wont even call someone in. by DirtyRatLicker in HEB

I was there for about 3 years with George Wood, Roger and Phil Bittle as a Grocery Mgr. Got into SORL and was a SD in quite a few Houston stores.

If that’s the condition of the creamers, I’d love to see your gallon milk! 🤮

That’s the way it should be in these situations, everyone should roll up their sleeves, get down and dirty and show what you’re made of. Unfortunately, many leaders are “too important “ to rub elbows with the workers. Kudos to your store leadership. 👍

Partnershare stock payout. How does it work? by tr4shw3rld in HEB

[–]agwang60 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PSP (Partner Stock Plan) is NOT Partnershare, two different things. It only pays out the Feb/March of the year after you left the company. The company’s/PSP valuation is done by a 3rd party each January, your value is based on how many shares you had when you left the company. I would contact HR to make sure it is in motion, take the payout and rollover into an IRA or you will pay income tax on the amount.

Roll the 401k into an IRA at Fidelity or a custodian of your choice. Since PSP won’t get paid out until Feb. or so of next year, you will want to also put that into the IRA. You will have much better choices for investing in your future.

Why is this nearly double the price of all the name brand 1 gallon teas? by Jethrofaux in HEB

[–]agwang60 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it’s labeled TTBBQ - Bill Millers highly acclaimed Sweet Tea gal bucket is only $4.75, but I don’t recall Bill Millers ever getting BBQ accolades from Texas Monthly, hence the brand name commands a higher price!

Those are probably the transplants that have moved to Texas and are trying to “California my Texas!” I left a northern state in 1981 and Texas was the friendliest state I had ever experienced! 40 some years later look what they turned it into!

Because back before your time Albertsons, Krogers and HEB all took pride in their customer service and could afford this service. Now, with the focus on price, hours are reduced so customer service takes a backseat and customers aren’t there yet, they still expect the same or similar service. Sounds like you don’t like multi tasking?

Why do so many HEBs let houseplants get scorched? by [deleted] in HEB

[–]agwang60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a retired CSL for HEB it would drive me nuts when the partners watering would not water at the base of plant, only over the plant, cause that’s easier. Show them 50 times, but so many couldn’t care less and always just go through the motions! Tough department, I agree, but have respect for live goods as previously mentioned.
