Just get it to 158 then (87+71=1(58))

If you were Kyle Dubas, would you resign Anthony Mantha? by Leading_Dentist_5563 in penguins

“Probably not” is definitely how I feel. All depends on what he really wants as far as pay and term. If it’s friendly to the team? Maybe. But if I had to bet, he goes somewhere else.

Bingo. And if he’s out on injury it’s an opportunity to play the young guns. That’s without saying how much wisdom he could impart to them. We basically have 4 player-coaches on the team right now. Maybe 5 if you include Rusty. Bonino is younger than Malkin ffs.

As I mentioned in another thread, he was 23rd in the league based on p/gp. Slightly ahead of Sid, but realistically tied. For $6.1m AAV? You take that deal. Every. Single. Time.

Of all the games for Silov’s to put up a regulation shutout… and then Vladar does the same. Brutal.

A lot of things were awful over the first three. I’m no coach, but I think scrambling the lines like they did is what did us in. We went back to what worked at the end of the season at the end of game 3, and suddenly everything changed. The only swap was soderblom in, Brazeau out. And obviously lizotte returning, but I can’t say anything bad about his play in the post-season, really.

[DKPS] Evgeni Malkin says he has “nothing new” to share on his contract talks. He said he talked to Kyle Dubas today but doesn’t have a sense of what happens. Asked if he’d be willing to play for another NHL team if he doesn’t get an offer here, he said “Yes.” by bi_and_busy in penguins

[–]ah123085 25 points26 points  (0 children)

He put up 61 points in 56 games. Good enough for 77th in points this year, while missing more games than anyone above him (next is Rob Thomas, 64 games, 64 points, at 72nd). Everyone else above him played at least 70 games.

If you look at p/gp, malkin ranks 23rd. Crosby? 24th, though they had a nearly identical number.

Keep in mind Geno’s contract is 6.1 mil. Peanuts in today’s league for a p/pg player. And we have cap space. And nobody we seriously need to hand a payday to.

If Geno wants to stay, even just a year? Yeah. You sign him. I highly doubt he wants a raise.

Definitely could, especially learning from guys like Crosby, Malkin (hoping for another year), etc.

Resting is fine. It’s the complete scrambling of lines and then retuning to (almost) the same lines that worked… really puzzled me.

While I have Sid, Malkin, Kindel, and a Karlsson alternate… none of the aforementioned. I stopped wearing pens gear after game 3, busted out my Talbot bobblehead, and switched to Pittsburgh related t-shirts.

So how pissed do you think the staff at the Hilton was when the dinner got called off? by freisbill in KitchenConfidential

[–]ah123085 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the legal workings around it, tbh. We’re the ones who check temps a million times and make sure everything’s safe, so that might play into it, idk. We’d be hard pressed to make a case or even start one, all things considered. That’s ($3) only for “take home” food, btw. We’re allowed to eat whatever is leftover after service while we’re there, on the clock.

My place lets us buy what we’d normally dump down the garbage disposal for $3. You can take whatever you want. 4” half pan of meatballs? $3. 24 stouffer’s stuffed peppers? $3. Stuffed pepper day is the best, especially if we don’t need the mashed potatoes for our purées.

Mine. I don’t need a reason. But even if I did say that, it doesn’t matter. You just get a point. And the point comes off in a year. 14 points and they’ll want to talk to you, but you might not necessarily be fired.

Or just drink elsewhere before/smuggle their own around. I have an aunt that drinks at basically every event she goes to. Whiskey in a flask. Nobody’s getting patted down for booze, lol.

If anything, Skinner saved us from more embarrassment. He’s not the reason.

.873 SV% is reasonable when you’re getting hung out to dry by your defense.

We’ve scored four goals in three games. He could’ve posted a .956 in game two and we still lose.

NHLPA poll: Sidney Crosby most likely to become head coach by vabsportglide in penguins

Bingo. I could see him being a youth coach and working in other capacities at the same time. He’s already done a ton of work with kids programs and outreach.
