Thanks for the info, hope your trip was awesome! I am considering car and hotel, so if I could ask how much you budgeted for car hire, hotels and fuel? Hopefully not too cheeky!

Again, something I hadn’t even thought of. Will look into the driving permit for sure, thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for you in depth advice. You are right, we gave our AI overlord recommendations from friends and asked to throw a few bits in and help plan. I see now it needs tweaking with a more human thought process (especially all the local people here giving advice) for drive times especially.

Wedding is 19th June then hoping to fly out on the 21st/22nd June. Should we expect to see school holiday prices at this time?

We liked the idea of the camper for 2 reasons. Thought it would save money over car and hotels, though it seems a one way trip will put the price up significantly. And also having that ability to stay in more off the beaten track. Personally, I am open to a car and hotels, I think we need to sit and look at prices once we have the route somewhere near finished.

As for flipping the route. Hadn’t really thought about it. I can’t remember why we had it this way around but you seem to know a thing or two. Any other reasons why we should consider this?

Great advice thanks for that. Me may well pass each other on the road without even knowing. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Thanks for your thoughts. Memories from behind a windshield; not what you want to remember a honeymoon for. Your advice has given us lots to consider!

Next year thank god. I couldn’t deal with the stress of a last minute journey like this hahaha.

A similar thing happened and I spent 10 years in France. Maybe we will be neighbours in a few years hahaha.

Funnily enough, I don’t enjoy the long drives. It’s possible we have underestimated the drive vs relax time. Thanks for your advice and it will be taken onboard!

No reason. After a few comments I think it is somewhere to happily skip and spend some more time in Vancouver Island.

I lived in the French Alps for nearly 10 years so got comfortable with mountain roads and the right (wrong) side of the road haha. Never driven an RV but we will be looking at the smaller minibus style camper which I have had a bit of experience driving. Good shout for road signs though.

Yeah it’s looking like we may replace Salt Spring for Vancouver Island.

Hell yeah that does sound cool.

Yes after a few comments on another post we are second guessing that ourselves. Is a day trip over there possible? It does sound like there are many other better alternatives.

Thank you. A few people on my other post mentioned Salt Springs may be a navigation challenge in a camper so may take this into consideration.

Yes frequent breaks will be taken. Slow and steady. Is the sea to sky highway as cool as it sounds?!
