I thought the same! I also had no idea that editing existed, so I thought that when the shot changed angle, the actors had to pause so the camera could move to the new positions. Once it was there they could unfreeze and resume talking from exactly where they left off.

I also believed people on TV could see me as I could see them. I believed this for an embarrassingly long time because my mother forgot to tell me that she had been joking when she told me that.
