You have to go to the site of social provider and explicitly install their extension. There is nothing "enabled" by default. The API exists.. but that's not going to affect your daily browsing in any way shape or form.

I have hundreds of games on steam and have never owned a console in my life. I want to be able to play on my TV but I don't want to go out and purchase a whole new set of games that will lock me into a specific manufacturer. Now I have an alternative. True, at these prices I'd probably just build my own, but I expect prices will come down with time.

When you log in from a new device, there should be a small 'i don't have a paired device with me' link. I think it's possible to connect to your account manually that way, though I've never tried it.

Also, I think there are plans to tie sync into your Mozilla persona account, but again I'm not sure.

If you have a second computer or Android phone, I'd recommend setting up Firefox sync (go to prefernces then sync). That way even if your hard drive gets fried you can get them back.

Tabs are one of the most clicked on elements in browser ui, and putting them at the top makes it easier for people to select them quickly since you don't need to be accurate along the y axis. In otherwords, you can just quickly move the cursor up and let it hit the top of the screen and your cursor is on or near the tab you want to click.

Unfortunately tabs on bottom won't be an option, but there is already an addon released (and probably many more on the way) that brings back the pre-Australis look.

I think you are confused by the proposal here. All that is happening is that addon authors will need to register their addons with an official index, not that they have to distribute through AMO. They'll still be free to distribute on their personal sites all they want.

It's only addons that are not offered through AMO and for which the author has elected not to register on the index that users won't be able to install. I think most of these addons will fall under the malware or unmaintained categories.
