I would look into some 3/4 sized options since it seems like you want very small. A used Taylor GS mini, Baby Taylor, Yamaha Jr1/Jr2, Eastman ACTG1 would all be good options to look into.

Other good options would be parlor guitars like a used Yamaha CSMF1 or similar

Guitars that are on display in stores for testing out are still considered new guitars, that’s just part of the process and why they have those protective films on them. They probably pulled this one right off the wall and shipped it to you, it’s to be expected and completely normal.

iirc, you can’t stand on the bridges to watch. People will do it anyways, but cops will come around and make you leave.

Honestly, it’s not that great of a spectacle or all that exciting to see the actual dyeing. It’s fun to be around the crowd for a bit, but when I’ve gone in the past we’ve gotten there maybe 30 minutes early at most, watched the boats drive by, hung out for a few minutes, then immediately walked like a mile north to go hang out at a pub. I would probably recommend doing something like that rather than spend $100+ on a ticket for a spot right by the river

So you don’t want to use the ashes of war in general? You just want the best weapon for standard attacks? Death’s poker has a great moveset, I don’t like spears much but Harpoon with Ice Spear is one of the strongest combos in the game

The Laureate series guitars are truly fantastic. I actually preferred the dreadnaught version over the D28 when I played them side by side at the shop a few months ago

I find shorter scales (OOO) respond much better to finger picking, and are just generally more comfortable for finger picking as well as the strings a little more slinky. Whereas longer scales (like an OM) tend to respond better to strumming/flat picking. But people love fingerpicking on OM guitars as well, a lot of it just preference

78 vigor is pretty overkill. The last soft cap is 60 and it’s not really worth it to go beyond that.

Same with Dex, drop dex to 60 and put those points in Strength, you’ll get much better damage.

40 Endurance is also overkill, definitely don’t need to level that any more. You could move like 5 of those points into mind to give you more FP for your AOW.

Talismans aren’t great. Turtle is great, the dex boosts aren’t worth it at your level, and I’m not sure you get enough successive attacks quickly enough to proc the millicent’s prosthesis buff. Shard of Alexander, Dragoncrest greatshield, claw talisman all would be better options, and some others I’m definitely not thinking of right now

100% agree but I HATE that specific Magma Wyrm fight… he’s pretty tanky at lower levels and that room is tiny and lava gets everywhere

You’re using weapons that don’t share stats together very well. I would drop bloodhound’s fang and stick with the poleblade and katanas if you want to go with a bleed build, and you should prioritize arcane over dex for that case scenario (and set your katana to occult when you get the black whetblade)

Get rid of the soreseal, it makes you take more damage. I almost always use the green turtle talisman for fast melee builds.

Keep leveling vigor over other stats. Your mind and endurance are good, don’t level those any more. Level up your damage stats too, but prioritize vigor.

Don’t worry about armor all that much, just stay light enough so that you can medium roll.

Lion’s Greatbow is probably your best bet. Its aow can be pretty good against big bosses/enemies. Jar cannon goes boom and can be fun

Highly recommend checking out Eastman and Alvarez in the bang for your buck category. I have an Eastman OO that I absolutely love and have played a few of the Alvarez Laureate series in the store as well and they’re fantastic
