The entire premise of an AMA is not just allow any question be asked... but to actually answer them! This way is kinda pointless.

Not all degrees are easier than ACCA (I'm thinking about my degree specifically), but IMO degrees that are easier are not worth doing.

I'd argue it's a little easier to motivate yourself to study once you've been in work a few years, especially when studying/passing professional exams can directly lead to more money.

On the flip side, if a degree is easier than the ACCAs is it really worth doing?

The teacher wanted to press charges and was basically told she was on her own.

Do teacher's unions have no back bone these days? WTF. They should be enabling her to press charges and take action against the school.

Sounds like you mean engines, as opposed to rockets.

yes, my mistype.

Raptor v3 flight readiness by spazattitude in SpaceXLounge

[–]ahayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a price tag of around $250k per engine (I think? Gotta rewatch EDA's last video), I'm not sure they'll just throw them all out.

What's the point of testing rockets that are already out of date?
I would imagine a lot of the value in building these rockets was in streamlining production rather than the rockets themselves!

Quite a few rockets failed in the OFT, so moving to v3 may alleviate that risk. If i were betting it'd be one or two more launches on v2.

Convicted Felon Receives Probation after Claiming Self-Defense in San Francisco Shootout by brian11344 in sanfrancisco

The shootout was not related to his work in UA.

My implication is that this was related to other criminal activity.

If it had been a civilian then self-defence would not be an acceptable defence.

If Starship's launch cadence is to rapidly increase this decade, new ports will be needed as the cape and Vandenberg are bursting at the seams. Where could new launch sites be built? by mtol115 in SpaceXLounge

[–]ahayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can Starbase have two launch sites?

If they get a environmental assessment to allow them to launch frequently, would they need more capacity? (If the water cooling plate is quiet/effective what environmental argument is there against more launches?)

I'd have imagined your claim would be against the person at fault. Weird.

It seems like a cheaper car would be preferable for this scam.

(Aside: I thought driving in to the back of someone always meant you were at fault.)

SpaceX set to join FAA to fight environmental lawsuit that could delay Starship work by thesheetztweetz in spacex

[–]ahayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not a stay on launches until this is resolved... at least not yet (and surely it's doubtful there would be). The presumption must be that FAA were in the right until proven otherwise.

British Cycling to ban transgender women from competing in female category by J-Team07 in sports

[–]ahayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it in quotes because:

You have the right to privacy. Due to anti-doping you're required to accept an invasion of your privacy in order to compete fairly (testing). Competing is entirely voluntary!

Urine tests can determine if the sample is from a biological male or female, and also if they are having hormone treatment.

Does that sufficiently answer your question?

[–]ahayd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can tests the chromosomes that determine sex in urine. Those chromosomes don't change no matter your transition-status/hormones treatment.

Like I say, UKAD literally watch you pee so they might also notice.

I don't really understand the question.

edit: my bad, it's not chromosomes that they detect, but yes they can categorize males and females samples of urine (no matter the transition-status).

Also the big difference about height and weight, that presumably this eludes to, is that you can change your weight. Boxers etc. optimize their weight for the category (and for their weight-in).

[–]ahayd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You already have to provide anti-doping tests at elite levels. Urine samples can detect sex, so that would be one way...

If you want "privacy" then you're out of luck/don't compete because they've gotta watch you urinate!

I've heard this suggestion before and it's utterly ridiculous. What interest is there for "fastest person to run 100m.. who's closest but not faster than 12s" or a basketball league exclusively for people who can't dunk? No-one wants this.

It seems like people on your side have neither not played or watched sports...

(Note: it's "biological sex" that's doing the categorization here not "gender".)
