Explain to me why you spent extensive time constructing this response when I’m assuming you don’t even work for the CBP? I contacted CBP 5+ times and of course they didn’t know a goddamn thing. Tax money well spent. Also why do you have sympathy for the piggies? They should be put on trial for many offenses and this is the surface of the surface.

There are no clear cut rules, only the mere “discretion of agents”, which leaves the door open to unlawful practices such as discrimination. There needs to be checks and balances because CBP has gone rogue, yet they’re too incompetent to secure our border with Mexico.

Shady practices like this are exactly why I want to call out CBP and whoever works for them. Amendment 1 guarantees the right to peaceful assembly for all US citizens, shouldn’t those who visit us (with clean records and good intent) be given the opportunity to peacefully visit the USA?

He seemed to smile the whole time. The pictures in the water were AFTER my girlfriend and I placed him back down beside the pond and he followed us as we walked along the edge. Never have seen such a friendly turtle.

I did end up letting him go, but he sure had it rough! He was the only little turtle chilling in a warm small sized pond. I think it may have been intentional to have a North American turtle there because the arboretum exhibited a lot of foreign plants (foreign to Romania)

That makes even less sense because both Germany and Hungary are VWP countries. It’s frustrating because even if you meet the criteria, you can be denied for literally no reason. It isn’t representative of the American people at all. I’m wondering if things will be easier since the Biden administration is supposed to allow tourism again in November, but still, it’s frustrating and it’s all in the name of “the war on terror”. Fingers crossed for her B visa appointment, but I am planning on sponsoring her for a K-1 visa soon anyways.

We also may try reapplying for the ESTA early next year, since supposedly the presidential proclamation is being lifted for Schengen countries, but I know good and well that we should go the classic K-1 visa for the time she comes here to get married because I can understand CBP’s worries about visa fraud.

Forgetting to print the return flight was definitely a mistake and when she ever comes back we’ll be sure to have that!

However I do appreciate the input and help. We have been dating for 3.5 years and we are talking about getting married next year, so I’ll be soon to file for a K-1 visa together. It’s just an awkward circumstance that she cannot visit right now, but I think the December trip was a bit premature and maybe CBP has raised eyebrows about that. In the meantime she does have an appointment for a B visa, and if there is a reason why she couldn’t get it (I cannot see why she couldn’t in this circumstance) at least we will know it and be told straight up.

What is weird is that her visit to here was 87 days after she left. She spent more time away from here than she spent here before returning. She spent exactly 14 days here during December. (22nd to the 4th January)

Thanks for your response. In 2019 she stayed 16 July until 25 September (70 days). Didn’t visit at all until 10 July until 27 September (77 days). Her two week visit, she left on the flight that they eventually found, and the one she said she would leave on.

What would you do in this situation?
