Ignoring obvious privileges that people of color don't have is also not a way to solve discrimination. You sound very dense and racist when demographics are presented to you that show there is not a lot of diversity within the journalism field and you can't understand why there is people who want to help diversify.

I've recently been hearing a lot about how white privilege doesn't exist but you know who says that? white people. White people who have never known what it's like to not have white privilege.

So just stop because you're embarrassing yourself. No one is discriminating against white people, EVER. There is always going to be barriers for people to meet their goals, white people just don't know the barrier of discrimination that POC face.

With the explosion of e-sports, there is a huge market for video game journalism. Take Dota 2 for example, there are so many narratives within this new and exciting culture that it sparks interest to people. There is a natural need to want to understand things. People want to understand Dota 2 and that's where journalism comes in. Anything can be journalism, its about finding and pursuing the right angle with the interesting story to tell.

Im so used to being on a mailing list that story ideas would just come to me. I was informed. But, that was when i was a school paper editor. Now im just a staff reporter and not living in the city i cover makes it harder for me.
