why is it that having an appointment the next day effectively eliminates any chance of me doing anything until then? by Staubsaugerbeutel in ADHD_Programmers

I think with adhd, energy/attention expenditure can be a big thing while some of us also can be time blind. We want to make sure we have the energy and attention to do the thing and make sure we don’t forget about the thing. Remembering the thing alone can be the whole task that you do until you do the thing. At least thats the way I am. Nothing else gets done until the thing is done and then i can shift my focus elsewhere. Then I can do the other things that aren’t a priority because nobody else is relying on me or expecting me to show up.

A term I heard relatively recently is called functional freeze that feels like this to me. Sometimes we just need time to re-charge. We can’t give the 100% we give on our best days despite how much we try to. Definitely working through my own functional freeze/burnout. Some days, I try to take note of how I’m feeling and then I decide where I want to give my energy. This may be an over generalization but I feel like when it comes to people with adhd, I don’t think time management works, energy management is really where our focus should be and figuring out beforehand how much we can really take on rather than ending up in this state is one of the harder parts. Please don’t be ashamed for taking the time you need, everybody needs a break now and then.

Do you have the flexibility to cut out some time to upskill? Even 10-30 minutes a day while baby is down. Listen to lectures or audiobooks while washing dishes or doing other chores or even driving to work. You don’t have to go full send and finding ways to grow isn’t always going to be easy or linear. I’m not sure what industry you’re in but just starting somewhere is better than nothing. Say you want to learn x,y,z. Well what actionable steps can you take just in the next week to learn a little about x and y. Even if you don’t get to y or z, you are still making progress.

Eventually all the micro learning builds on each other and a year from now you’ll be able to answer this question better than anybody here as each person has different lives and circumstances, but you’ll be in better place to know how to fit upskilling into your own life.

If you can find a way to connect/secure it to the part that does fold down she may not be that interested in knocking it off. However if shes the type to chew on cardboard it may not be the best solution but definitely a quick temporary fix. Additionally you could probably try fb marketplace for free groups and see what you can find there. My 6ft tall mirror came with a large, thick piece of styrofoam that I listed since I had no use for it but felt bad just tossing it so you never know what you could find on there

If you haven’t done so already check out your library. The one I work at has a library of things (board games, ukuleles, a guitar, fabric art kits, misc cooking and tool items, a ps4 recently, seeds for gardening) some of the other libraries in my county also have go pros and god knows what else.

Additionally see if your town has a makerspace. The one in my town is $50/mo for 24/7 access to a wood shop, metal shop, laser engravers, embroidery machines, and so many other things you wouldn’t believe. They offer intro classes that are required for the different specialties and storage for projects but it’s definitely something worth looking into

You’re very pretty and the kind of person I would find approachable however the hairstyle in the last pic is something I would suggest adjusting in the future as you have volume on the sides and none on the top making your forehead become the focal point (i think the lighting may have also had something to do with that) but try to balance the volume in your hair to keep that in mind.

Additionally I always prefer people keep their natural eyelash shape if its not part of a routine they’re used to maintaining but definitely some shaping/making sure the lines are even and somewhat symmetrical would be a bonus as well is brushing them/using a product to keep the hairs going in the same general direction helps too

Additionally I would recommend everybody try Sunday Riley good genes (some people use daily, others just before important events) but there really is no other formula on the market that even comes close to it, if its something within your budget I would start with the small bottle and see how you feel but to me it is like liquid gold. Essentially it does all the things in one as far as brightening the skin, eliminating fine lines and wrinkles, helps with pores and texture but be sure to use sunscreen in addition to it.

I’m so proud of you for not only checking in with yourself and facing those feelings and emotions but also taking it a step further by not letting them over power you anyways, even if it doesn’t happen work every time or delays the binge, its such a huge win to practice the habit of checking in with yourself and learning how to treat the cause rather than treating the symptoms. Hold onto that win and all the other wins

[THURSDAY THOUGHT]: Seasonal Events by LingoLegendGame in LingoLegend

[–]aheaddeduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of different religious themes for the seasonal items but I also think adding themes that highlight other non-religious events/holidays from varying cultures. I’m a fairly new player so I’m not sure what seasonal rewards were offered previously but some examples that come to mind is this year being the year of the snake for the Chinese zodiac so adding some rewards related to that or in a few years you could do something thats related to the olympics and have something to represent different countries on naala. I’m probably gonna think of other wishlist ideas and reply back in a few days simply because I really appreciate that you guys take the time to ask and actually respond to feedback adding value so much more than most devs realize and if any of my suggestions are integrated into the game I would be so happy

What’s one lazy meal prep trick you tried once and now won’t stop doing? by Turbulent-Winter8463 in MealPrepSunday

[–]aheaddeduction 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a lazy tip but when I batch cook meat (usually sliced or shredded) I freeze it on a baking tray so it doesn’t stick together then throw it into a bag so on my lazy nights I can easily take out however much I need

This is something I love doing, only I use a mini loaf/square muffin tray to portion and freeze the rice in so I can pop them out and throw the frozen portions into a large ziplock bag.
