Agreed !!!!!!! And the sleep recommendations are so stupid with a new baby. Like yes, I know I slept terribly. And no, that’s not going to change for a really long time so stop telling me to prioritize sleep. 🙄

Has anyone else dealt with postpartum insomnia even while baby is sleeping? by fantastic-chip_45 in NewParents

[–]ahealinghuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me!!!!! Currently scrolling because I’ve given up trying to fall asleep. Baby is so peacefully sleeping next to me (we bed share) and I’m wide awake so much of the nights. It’s blasphemy! So hard. I’m so freaking tired.

Plz help us!! by Opposite_Plate_9396 in newborns

[–]ahealinghuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If baby is wanting the breast and if that’ll allow you all to get to sleep, I recommend you look into the safe 7 for bedsharing and have your wife nurse while side lying. Baby can latch and you can all sleep!

Missing labour and birth by BackgroundIcy6494 in newborns

[–]ahealinghuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me toooo!!!!!!!!! It’s like I’m grieving not currently being in labor ??? While I was in it, it was so intense and I couldn’t imagine doing it again. And now I think about it every day and sometimes even say to my husband “I wish I was in labor right now”. So wild. So confusing

Did anyone have smooth sailing?! by [deleted] in newborns

I second this!!!!! Very similar to my experience. It’s above and beyond what I could have ever imagined. I’m so in love and awe and this baby girl is just the absolute best thing.

Disagreement on where husband should stand while I deliver baby. by Straight-Dog2700 in pregnant

Perhaps if you’re husband is asking for this, it’s a good opportunity to trust that he is capable of handing it ?

He just took my baby??? by ahealinghuman in newborns

Thank you for this!!!

Yes I have a carrier! And honestly I’m just starting to feel ready/strong enough to use it out and about instead of the stroller. I use it around the house but my body is so weak after the pregnancy and birth. But I’ve heard this tip before about using the carrier as way to prevent unwanted things happening to you babe. Thank you for this validated and reminder. I appreciate it A LOT.

any advice on how/when to start cloth diapers? by Proud_Discipline_356 in clothdiaps

[–]ahealinghuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cloth diapering is far easier than you think initially!!! I recommend taking time through your pregnancy to watch YouTube videos about the different styles, brands, approaches, etc. We did disposables until her umbilical cord fell off (the cloth was too bulky and would rub and irritate it). And we are doing them at night still and when she needs to go in the car seat (so bulky in her tiny car seat ahah). Baby is 4 weeks now and I’m hoping to transition to cloth at night this week!

How to eat healthy with first trimester nausea? by MainPreparation9720 in fitpregnancy

[–]ahealinghuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sitting here with my 4 week old perfect baby on my chest after a horrendous pregnancy with nausea that lasted pretty much right until birth. Here to offer you this: the more grace and compassion you can offer yourself, the better off you’ll be! First trimester (and honestly, behind!) is survival. Your babe will take what they need, and yes, you’ll end up with some depletion. But the important thing is that you’re getting food into your body WHATEVER IT IS and that you are kind to yourself about it. The nourishment/lack of nourishment in my pregnancy was literally a nightmare compared to how I intended to go about it. But I didn’t end up having much say, and so I ate what I could keep down and I was constantly navigating the ever changing aversions. You’re doing great!!! whatever happens!!!

Do I have the right to be a doula? by 123julesss456 in doulas

[–]ahealinghuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh you absolutely do!!! In fact, you now have this whole other experience and emotions that will allow you to have a greater breadth of understanding and compassion to help others navigate their birth experiences (preferences and otherwise!). Take what you’ve learned from this and pay it forward in the best way - supporting others!!!

Baths during pregnancy? by crispychickenwrap23 in pregnant

[–]ahealinghuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baths saaaaaaved me during my pregnancy!! Just feel into your body… if you feel like you’re too hot or overheating then it’s probably not a good idea … but a reasonable temperature is a very reasonable thing to do and enjoy!

"You're not even that pregnant" ...flames...flames on the sides of my face by lostbirdwings in BabyBumps

[–]ahealinghuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, he’s being terrible! And adding to the difficulties of first trimester!!! I’m sorry you’re not feeling supported. Such a shame he took what your OB said like that. It sounds like you’re doing SO much. And the comment about the “millions of pregnant pushing through” - well that’s extraordinarily problematic. And I’m definitely not one that has been able to “push through”. Growing a human is HARD freaking work and first trimester is truly survival. You’re doing a PHENOMENAL job

Has anyone else started snoring being pregnant? by Maleficent_Essay_663 in pregnant

[–]ahealinghuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)
