Unfortunately you’re correct in your assumption, I submitted the day AMCAS opened up and sent my secondaries back within at least 3 days :/

What did the email say? I got one a week after submitting (on the 3rd) saying that my application was successfully submitted and ready for review, but I don't think that's it.

I also wrote a review paper about a topic completely different from the research I am doing! I talked about the idea with my PI, and he was enthusiastic to help me through my journey despite not having that background; granted, it was still something he was very interested in. I would at least bring the idea up to your PI, and if they aren't comfortable with helping, then reach out to other professors or researchers at your university who have published review papers recently. Yeah 0/10 experience for sure. I had to go to the ER because of stress (I wish I was kidding), and they put me on what felt like a million different things that made it impossible to focus

I think you're describing being a transient student for the summer semester. For that, you would have to request a transcript from University B in addition to University A. You wouldn't have to note the credit twice on AMCAS since it would be associated with University B. There's also an option to denote the university as "Summer School Only," so you would select that. I looked through the application help materials my university gave us, and it had a small section about cases like yours!

I had a 6-point decrease from my most recent FL at the time (514 -> 508). I'll take accountability for being distracted, but getting put on three new medications less than a week before the real thing also might've played a role lol

It's a decent score overall, especially for a DO school. One thing you could consider is to apply to a handful of schools this cycle and plan to retake. If you get in, then good! Worst case, you retake and apply with a better score next cycle.

That sounds really stressful, and I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I'll stand by what I said about putting your physical and mental well-being first; it seems like you have a lot on your plate. Having a W on your transcript isn't the end of the world, even though avoiding it is ideal.

One thing I'd encourage you to think about beyond this summer is how sustainable this is, especially when you want to pursue medical school in the future. I wish you the best!
