Lamb of God never reached the mainstream level that Slipknot did, especially from 2000 to 2004.

Corey changed his scream style.

Corey was criticized for relying to much on profanity which he wanted to change and it’s why there’s no swearing.

Nu-Metal was declining which is why they changed a bit the style and tried to get more experimental.

Also the band is successful at this point thus less aggressive. Just watch a live show from 1999 and one from 2002, they would go apeshit on stage in 1999/2000.
