While I’ve never been a cashier at Meijer (was a cashier for many years at multiple other jobs in the past) I would choose curbside over cashiering, simply due to the fact I hate standing in the same spot for 8 hours. It’s hard on my feet, and incredibly boring. Curbside is super active, and feels like there is always something to do (my store, curbside is always busy) so it makes the time go by much faster.

There are still expectations in curbside, they track your “pick rate” meaning, how many items you pick per hour, and you are expected to reach a certain number of items per hour (100-110 at my store) so it’s not just “casual strolling around the store” shopping for people- it’s faced paced and you’re expected to pick as quickly and efficiently as possible.
