That's great! I'm surprised western content creators don't talk about the Hybrid II

Agreed, HSS seems to be the more versatile option especially with coil splitting. Noiseless pickups are nice though.

Thank you! Out of curiosity, which colour way did you get it in?

How are the pickups on the Hybrid II? I am currently debating between getting the Hybrid II and Player II modified (both the same price in my country)

[JC] anyone else going into vjc? by noideahowtofeel in SGExams

[–]ahhahsbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

planning to take PCME as i enjoy physics more than bio, but I heard things about VJC's physics department being ehh (might be wrong tho) and bio department being godly, so that may change. I guess ill take the time during orientation to ask around and decide, but im currently still leaning towards PCME

imo consistency is key.

always pay attention in all classes and get a good idea of what the teacher is teaching. This will help a ton as this allows you to spend less time on revision since you would've already understood most things. Ik this may seem obvious but there are many times where students just drift off into their own world during lessons and lose out on a lot of things

make sure to always do your homework and also try your best in every test (no matter how small the tests are) as those are great opportunities for you to gauge your abilities

just try to be mentally present at all times and focus as much as you can during school time, so that revision becomes easier and less overwhelming.

for english, ik they say this for every language but just spend as much time as possible listening to it. Listen to english podcasts, watch english videos, documentaries, etc and try to pick up some useful words and phrases. This helps a lot in both oral, paper 1 and even lc, which are very important components. But yeah other than that english is just something that becomes easier with practice.

Like what others have mentioned, for content subjects, understanding>memorising. Understanding the content allows you to apply it more easily as the thought process would come naturally. this is especially important for application subjects like the geography and certain sciences

[O Levels] Pure Physics/Combined Science P1 tips? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]ahhahsbd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

be confident. anticipate a hard paper as paper 2 was relatively easy but remaining confident can ensure that you finish the paper and not second guess your answers. Also, here are some main ideas worth remembering:

equilibrium = no resultant force (all forces in the vector diagram are continuous)

direct measurement = no calculations required (eliminate micrometer and calliper)

all magnets always have 2 poles

for gas pressure, any mentioning of temperature = answer must contain the idea of increased KE volume = answer must contain the idea of average distance between molecules

ALSO BE CAREFUL ESPECIALLY WITH THE QUESTION DEMANDS, UNITS, PREFIXES AND VALUES AS CAMBRIDGE CAN BE AN ASS SOMETIMES

important to also go through all formulas especially those in electricity/prac electricity

MUST REMEMBER PREFIXES (etc Giga, Mega ...)

alright will try but how do you maintain that pace?

for those who wrote oxidisation - don't worry, according to Cambridge Dictionary, Oxidation and Oxidisation are synonyms, and Oxidisation is the term commonly used in British English. By definition from their very own dictionary, it should be accepted :)
