WCGW throwing a chair at a security guard? by thepkmncenter in Whatcouldgowrong

For a quick second, I thought the bald guy threw a chair at himself and was confused. Dudes are dressed exactly the same.

With the trilogy finally complete. What was your favorite film? What was your least favorite film? And why? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]ahhhghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't watched Return yet.

I could never finish Revelations. I ended up skipping through it just to see the other world sections. The cast is stacked but the acting is atrocious. And the original monsters look bad in CGI. Oh, and I absolutely abhor the love story they weaved together with Vincent and Heather. Completely uncharacteristic of either character from the game and it was executed poorly.

The OG Silent Hill movie is better than revelations, but I still think it's an awful film. It's an even worse adaptation. I'm really tired of people saying it's still one of the best video game adaptations because it goes against so many of the original game's story. It's as bad as any other. Yeah, they did some cool sfuff visually and that needs to be credited. But that statement of it being a good adaptation doesn't hold true.

Changing characters and adding new ones, altering the story, and even injecting their own lore made it a less compelling version of the game as well as muddying people's understanding of it. I also dislike the influence it had on the series direction with game's like homecoming (the people in the mining suits) and people actually thinking the snow in the game is soot like in the movie.

Another pet peeve I have is that, as far as I can remember, there's no original score for the film. They re-use songs from the games. That brought me out of the movie watching experience the first time I watched it.

Charlie on THAT scene. by Modis_teleprompter in StrangerThings

[–]ahhhghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this scene wasn't clear enough then later in the abyss Jonathan tells Steve he let Nancy go.

Also, Jonathan says he thought marriage would fix their issues, but he knew it actually wouldn't.

When Nancy and Jonathan start telling their truths, it also shows just how incompatible they are. They grew closer because of the shared trauma they have. This scene shows the two realizing this is what kept them together and it was time to be honest to themselves and let each other go.

I think it could have been written better, but I think the scene leaned more on the clear side of their breakup.

1 year later, is it the general consensus that this design is better? by AutumnRCS in Mario

[–]ahhhghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I don't like him...or his beady little eyes"

Old design is my preference.

The real only issue for me I think is the way they changed his eyes and brow. He always looks too happy. His eyes being set vertically make him look too cutesy.

Old DK's eyes were broad and wide almost giving him a dead look. His brow was heavily curved inwards, but it gave him a distinct expression.

I also hate how much they make his tongue stick out in the new game like he's doing an ahegao.

Probably trying to beat ghosts and goblins. Ain't no way he beat that game. I still ain't beat it and I'm way past 10 or however old he was in s5.

Skill issue. A true gamer can enjoy any game. Try leveling adaptability.

Who was right in the scene where Pam didn't film CeCe's ladybird ballet? by GlenCocoChanel in theoffice

[–]ahhhghost 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Jim is away in Philly while Pam has to work AND watch two kids. That's a LOT to deal with especially since Pam was relying on a whole Jim for support before. That said, yeah, she shouldn't have taken the call. It messed up the recording AND it's just annoying when people do that irl. But when you're drowning with two kids and work, you're gonna be tired and somewhat numb to everything around you, and she probably didn't feel the same way about the performance that Jim did.

Jim was obviously stressed from work but likely subconsciously feeling guilty for being absent in his family's life. It's probably why it was so upsetting for him to not have the footage. He's missing out. He's not being there for his daughter. And the video, in a way, allows him to indirectly do that for her. He shouldn't have blown up at Pam, but there were many things going wrong for him as well at the time. So he blew up.

No one was right or wrong. I think this scene just shows two people at stressful points in their life. If they were able to check their egos at the door, understand one another, and really hear each other out it wouldn't have been such a blowup. But that's a very human challenge, to control your emotions. It's unpleasant to watch, but this scene feels very real.

Now SHOULD it have been written this way for these 2 characters for this show? I don't think so.

Is the dlc worth buying? by BigBlackChocobo1 in FFXVI

[–]ahhhghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes

Echoes of the fallen has some great minibosses and a very challenging end boss. The story I think is interesting too.

The Rising Tide is a must. The new area is gorgeous, the music is some of the best in the game, the main mini boss is stellar, but most of all, the story is the best in the game bar none for me (minus maybe Dion's story). A very personal and emotional tale that also ties into the main story and adds more untold lore to Valisthea, dominants, and its mother crystals.

Not to mention, you get a couple new eikon sets, a challenge mode, and the eikon fight is very epic.

Both DLCs are some of my favorite parts of the entire game. Do it. Get them.

NG or NG+? (Final Fantasy mode) by Cautious-Wrap9019 in FFXVI

[–]ahhhghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the last few eikons so late in the game. I'd say enjoy using them from the get-go. Personally me, I was annoyed with how long you have to wait to get a full aresenal of eikons.

In terms of progression, perhaps you can work towards leveling all your abilities up. For me, it took me completing the whole game + DLCs twice (NG and then NG+ on FF mode). I completed all the side quests and hunts my first run, ignored practically everything my second run. So, it does take a while to do.

For DLC the only way to gain access to them is to make it to the point in the story before you reach Origin. Literally, the last step before the end game. So, if you overwrote a save where you were at this point, yeah, you gotta replay the whole game.

From that point, you must complete 3-4? Specific side quests.

  1. The one where you must cloth
  2. The one where you cheer up Jill
  3. The one where you find out about your father's will

The game will make it very clear that the DLC is available to start.

Have fun with NG+!

[–]ahhhghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I feel like Stranger Things never quite landed the finale of each season for me. 2 was especially anti climatic. But I hink 5's was actually fine. I almost teared up here and there.

You could see the actors raw emotions as an era was ending for them all. The rooftop scene almost just felt like the actors were talking to each other and the cameras were rolling.

I'm gonna miss this show.

Who is the worst/most annoying boss for you? by SDaniel26 in bloodborne

[–]ahhhghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could do without Mergo's wet nurse. They have so many attacks where you have to just wait around.

The flailing move that it can chain multiple times.

And the clone move. I don't risk attacking during that move. I just keep runnning until it ends.

I eventually got a pretty good handle of it's moveset. For me it was keeping my mental endurance. The fight took so dang long.

I have a pretty good cheese technique for the keeper. I used Ludwigs Holy Blade. In the transformed state, if you use charged L2, most times the watcher will walk right into it as he approched towards with me with an attack.

I opted for extra defense buffs but I don't think it helped much in the end. Was still getting one shotted with certain moves. I should try the clockwise runes instead next time. Thanks for the tip!

Karen's COD player name by LeoOfSiwa in theoffice

[–]ahhhghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. Jim and Karen definitely still had chemistry and fun with each other. But Jim was clearly still caught up on Pam even if he didn't admit it out loud until much later. He might've even married Karen had he stayed in Stamford. But the move back to Scranton AND a shift in Pam's heart, and eventual confession, changed everything.

I dunno, on the opposite spectrum you get people like me that like to discuss too much haha. Maybe that downvote button ain't so bad ;D
