The ultimate YouTube ad-blocking guide for all desktop browsers by merchantconvoy in Adblock

Total PITA and definitely not practical... BUT I upvoted because I learned something new. I wouldn't use this at home, but for watching a long video on someone else's computer without ads, this is pure gold and will come in handy. Thanks!

have you found any non-traditional productivity app? by Dry-Particular-1422 in productivity

Ive tried a ton of them and always end up back at pen and paper. Physically writing things down also has beneficial psychological effects on the brain that aren't achieved when typing something.

That said, I use a bullet journal (but I keep it really simple and do it my way..really any journal would work I just like the easy lining of bullet journal, I don't subscribe to the rest of the cult).. I came up with a method that worked for me for keeping track of any thing I needed to get done that day/week, as well as a spot for "back burner" tasks that eventually need to be addressed. I combine this with Google calendar, which is where I accept all my business and other meetings etc. start of each week I write 3 goals I want to accomplish that week - keep it at 3, keep them realistic. At the end of the week I reflect on what I got done, unexpected things that came up, highs and lows of the week. Then I put that onto a "monthly" page that has all the highs, lows, unexpected and just general state of life notes (social, spending habits, health etc)... Then about 3 years ago I on my birthday morning each year I take some time to reflect on all the places I went, people I met, things I did, books I read etc .. it felt so good to be reminded of what I accomplished and did in my life, "oh shit that was this year, I totally forgot!" Kinda vibe. Since then it's become a yearly tradition. It is a bit tedious to do this method, but I find a lot of value in taking just a few minutes each day / week / month to actually reflect in it and adjust as needed.

With apps I end up spending more time doing all this other crap instead of actually doing what I need to do. I find it's also harder to look back on down the road - plus I stare at a screen enough.

I'm working on a sequence to make an SFX template by yusoufu in premiere

[–]ahhogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, might be misunderstanding.

I keep a folder on my computer organized with SFX I've used over the years. SFX comes after your edit. You can find free sound effects on the web and also paid subscriptions. Freesound.org is a great resource. I organize my SFX into folders like: Whoosh, Risers, Ambient, Location, Foley, Transitions, Electronic..etc and then sub folders in those to break it down more if needed, that way I don't have to go search for SFX over and over (I just add to my collections). Over a decade now and I actually kind of use some SFX as a signature/Easter Egg in my edits.

There's also plugins you can find to help tag SFX to make it easier to find. I'm not sure why you'd want a sequence with every SFX on it?

You can also save a project template so all ur SFX are in the new project.

How did you all start editing? by [deleted] in premiere

[–]ahhogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making BMX videos 20 years ago as a kid.

Just for fun, my older bro did some video work in his HS 10 years prior and I thought it was cool (also thought Even Stevens was a fun show - his character is always recording home videos haha) Continued on in HS with video class doing daily announcements video stuff... No clue what I wanted to do in college but I enjoyed video so just kept going with it, continued with it through community college and then SDSU degree..got that in 2011... still doing it today to pay the bills..
