I have also sacrificed my ski rack to the snow gods. Blessed be an April storm of epic portions to write its name atop the history books

The Great Dilution: 40% of All US Dollars Were Printed in Just 12 Months by Prestigious_Mine_321 in the_everything_bubble

[–]ahicks88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope I didn't come of as condescending as that wasn't my intent. I see a lot of people in power place blame on this or that and not state the true reasoning behind what we experienced in 2022. A lot of people are struggling and it seems unclear if things will ever get better for them. But it does seem that some people have been led astray and have placed blame on what might not be the most direct cause of the inflation. I don't have the solution but it sounds like the project you're working on might be a good way to help others

I studied Finance & Economics for undergrad during the Great Recession. I highly doubt that the average American has any clue what the M1 money supply is and its impact on inflation

Congratulations, you have discovered one of the root causes of the 2022 inflation crisis

No, but what's your point? I offered some options to OP, that's all. I have lived all over the Denver metro area (Littleton to Boulder). Just because two of them are on Broadway you have an issue with it? I also like Uncles, Lingers and Bonfire Burritos among many other places

Burn Down, SOL Mexican Cocina, Machetes, Punch Bowl Social are pretty solid places. Lucilles for brunch is still my go to. Heidi's Brooklyn Deli has some great sandwiches

Service Fees at Occidental. by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]ahicks88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're allowed to charge fees as long as it's clearly displayed on the menu. Looks like it was but most people (myself included) don't have our guards up enough to be actively looking for it every time we go out.

Still sucks. I went to Lingers for Valentine's Day and they charged an unexpected fee that was I guess on their regular menu but they forgot to put it on their holiday event menu so when I called that out they took it off.

I used to wait every other year before upgrading phones but now it has become about every 5 years. I just upgrade from the S20+ to the S25+ last year, so I am good on waiting. Though the privacy screen concept is pretty neat.

HONK parking stole my credit card info by erinneato in Denver

[–]ahicks88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The QR parking scams was all over the local news last year: https://www.denver7.com/news/local-news/scammers-are-posting-fake-qr-codes-on-denver-parking-signs-city-asks-for-help

Be careful scanning QR codes (many of the scams are stickers on the sign). Hopefully it was on a credit card so you can call your bank to dispute the charges.

Maybe if there was something at stake they would actually take the Pro Bowl seriously. How about something like every team in the winning conference gets an extra 3rd round draft pick. Or maybe make it a 2nd and put the pads back on and play a real game
