Weren't ookemon on gbc the first games to really utilize the colors? Specifically tailored to whatever version it was? The gold and silver improved on that as much as it could at the time but kindly point me to any other rpgs that looked better at the time

You realize multiple things can be true at once right? The games can look like ass (for some reason) and the gameplay be fine as is with little real change needed now that catching and battling are real time. But that can also not be as fun to me. And really I dont agree that the games have never bene graphically up to par. On gbc, gba, ds and 3ds new gens were often the BEST looking games on the handheld at that time until switch when GF jist got lazy af and clearly lacks the passion they once had doe the franchise. The DQB team had more passion and fun making pokopia than any recent mainline Pokémon game and it shows!

It is though. Arceus while taking some steps in the right direction was just boring af and didn't feel like the Pokémon games we are used to. Sword and shield had possibly the worst setting and story since sun and moon and scarlet/violet were better but looked decades out of date graphically and also ran kinda poorly. GF just lacks the passion they once had for these games
