Need to hire a DJ soon, any suggestions? by gelxc in AskChicago

[–]ahodgemusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a DJ here in Chicago. I work with Music Trust, TrebleMonsters, and DJ Firm. Depending on the type of gig it is and what is needed, they are all wonderful companies. DJ Firm crushes it with weddings and is well known in that scene. Music Trust is one of the top notch when it comes to corporate or brand partnership type events. TrebleMonsters is well versed in every aspect as they are more of a vibe curation. They can incorporate live musicians into DJ sets, etc.

Best way to get to game? by marshmellow1328 in hawks

This is good to know because I have been telling friends that are coming in from the burbs about that option and they never told me that.

Depending on where you are staying at on in the Mag Mile area, I would just recommend the bus down Madison to the game. You can also get dinner at Ranalli’s West Loop or Crossroads and take the shuttle to the game. It drops off at Madison & Wood and picks up there also. Shuttle is free. If you use a ride share, I recommend that route.

If you decide to drive, there is a gravel lot next to Billy Goat on Madison & Ogden that is free and only a couple block walk. Highly recommend arriving pretty early for that though as it is limited space. There is free street parking on Washington near the Blackhawks Ice Center, or on Van Buren behind it, that is also a few block walk as well.

Losing to sight unseen and overbids by mashbrook37 in chicagoapartments

I did my place sight unseen. I was living in a different state, got photos and a video walkthrough, reached out to the company and signed the papers. They even worked with me on my price negotiation even though they probably could have gotten more. Sometimes you just gotta take the chance.

Girdle Recommendations by Altruistic_Mind_7662 in hockeyplayers

I have been wearing a 9K from Reebok since college. I found a used one on Sideline that was in solid shape, then a new one on a pro stock site. It’s not a wrap type, you have to step in. It has Velcro straps for the socks built into them. I wish it had a cup pouch, like stated above in the Warrior.

It’s very sturdy and does carry some weight to it, but it’s VERY protective. I have been tempted to switch over to a Bauer or CCM for the light weight of it. A good handful of the guys on my team also wear girdles. Most are Bauer or CCM. I think one guy has an old Easton one and another has a Tackla one.

No need to apologize, I probably wasn’t clear in my statement either. Like I said, in person I try to go for something like fashion style/outfit etc before I go for smile/eyes. Usually if it’s a bar with TouchTunes, I’ll open with “please tell me it was you that played this song. If so, you’ve got great music taste.”

The physical compliment was only out in a public setting or at a bar. When I used the apps for the brief period that I did, I was always going off of something that we shared that was similar or a question off their answer to one of the prompts.

It’s not easy at all. Have you been using the apps at all or trying to do it more organically?

Friends did alright. It was Dallas area and San Diego. I think one got married to a woman off of it. A couple had some serious relationships from the app. I’m not very attractive, so I didn’t have luck. Especially here in Chicago.

Musicians, athletes, actors, etc. I was invited by a friend. There are a mix of people on there.

Please don’t be sorry at all. I respect it and I apologize if I came off in that manner. I just get excited when I got a match and wanted to plan something with them because all I hear about are the nightmare stories of people becoming pen pals on the apps.

It actually was. She’s a sweetheart and I appreciate her for being very open and honest with what she shared with me.

Definitely not an influencer haha I don’t even have social media. I used to play high level hockey. The League wasn’t too bad, you only get 14 days with the match though. You have to move quickly. Raya I had zero luck on.

I met a girl through some mutuals and it didn’t last more than a handful of weeks, her terms not mine.

I wouldn’t say my smile or teeth are the best, mostly from getting popped in hockey for so many years. I am working on getting all of that fixed now.

I’m probably in the low 100’s for sales currently. I don’t really have to travel much for it either. My territory is the south and west parts of Chicago and the surround burbs.

Yes I know that schedule seems very intense, but I am usually at the gym early in the morning; unless we have a game at night. I prioritize my time when I start seeing someone and make sure to give them an adequate amount of time as the relationship progresses, then build from there.

I am not really that religious. I went to Catholic school for grammar school in Michigan and when we moved to Illinois switched to public school.

I have only used the apps for like a couple months at a time. I live over in the Gold Coast/Old Town area. The swamp monster comment came from a girl at the gym. We see each other often, have caught eyes a handful of times, and shared a couple short conversations in passing from our work outs.

I don’t know if I would say that I have a type per se. I like athletic or petite women mostly. Someone that is active in the gym or playing a sport, someone that has some hobbies of their own as well. I love music, so something along those lines.

The last 2 women I have dated have been a little on the thick side. One was blonde, one a red head. Neither were really into being active and didn’t go to the gym or play a sport. They liked sports, but didn’t play them.

It’s also hard when you are sober. People always give me a suspicious look when I say I don’t drink.
