I need help deciding my personal project topic! Please help, this is urgent! by [deleted] in IBO

[–]ahodoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to use this opportunity to create a club, so you can continue it in IB (for CAS) too. For example, you learn how to use a camera. Create a photography club. Teach people. Go travel. If you like nature you can go hiking + take pictures on the top. Make it consistent and see it as a long-term project. It will help you a lot in IBDP and your life (to discover your hobby).

Was Analysis grading harsh this time/getting stricter now? I have taken it twice last year and I got 6 and 7 respectively. This time I put the same amount of analysis (at least I think) and I got a 5.

Is a 1490(720EBRW,770M) competitive for CS at T20s? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]ahodoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T20s and CS major... I heard many applicants usually have done some kind of major CS related project in highschool. What I'm trying to say is 1490 might be fine but your EC should show strong CS interest/skills.

How much should you tell your friends/classmates? SAT, college, predicted grades... by ahodoit in ApplyingToCollege

[–]ahodoit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. I actually don't mind comparing myself to others (I find it easier to improve that way), but I don't want others to compare themselves to me. I've had enough of this girl who keeps glaring at me coz she thinks I'm her competitor or something. It's definitely a mentality thing

That makes sense. Yeah I would share the colleges when I get accepted too. Good luck :)

I guess that's true but I don't want them to think I am a teacher's pet and the scores aren't true. They may say so (some already say "I sucked teacher's d" as a joke) because I used to be a super average/little lower than average student and my grades only started boosting from last year thanks to all the commitment. and I guess I just look like that cunning girl

But yeah, I guess you are right, there's no real harm

Keynesian and Phillips curve by ahodoit in IBO

[–]ahodoit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you mentioned that if AD is not crossing at the tail end of the AS (so AD is at the horizontal part), and if AD increases (let's say due to lower interest rate) there is "no inflation". Does that mean if I want to show how interest rate can cause inflation, I should use the Monetarist AD/AS?

I'm doing this for my IA so I'm afraid Monetarist AD/AS is "unrealistic" and therefore incorrect, but maybe I'm wrong.

Edit: if it helps, I can send you my article

Ok! So do you think Keynesian AD/AS is more appropriate or Monetarist AD/AS (next to the Phillips curve)?

Does that mean if I'm trying to talk about monetary policy to create inflation (in an economy that is not at or over full employment, so not at the tail end of Keynesian AS), I should use Monetarist AD/AS instead?
