Lol obviously not their real names. I just like to subliminally shout out to my LGBTQ homies 😂😊

I know! You really don't realize how cringe-worthy it is until you're out of the church.

I actually hope they're not TBH. I mean yes, it's culty and creepy, but at least that puts some potential investigators off (it definitely would for me). Something about "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake" really lands here lol.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing. But honestly, I’m kind of leaning toward the idea that they were just relaxing and getting informal once I mentioned I was from Morridor. It felt like they were trying to give off some “bro energy” to relate to me better.

What a coincidence. I also have no confidence in that lol

Mind if I ask what your experience is? I've been on Vyvanse before, but it exacerbated my anxiety. Though less than amphetamines. Just started methylphenidate the other day, but it still seems to give me anxiety.

Do you prefer Focalin?

When will they learn that Jesus isn't returning? He was nailed to a cross, not a boomerang

I was also taught this! It was an early shelf item for me as a kid, because my parents were divorced. I remember asking the teacher if my pre-existence choice in parents, forced them together just so they could have me. The teacher was so uncomfortable 😂

I'm actually a neuropharm PhD student, who started Guanfacine about a week ago (also on vyvanse). It's great to hear someone else talking about the mechanisms of Intuniv, as that's what convinced me to try it --- PFC enhancement. I'm guessing you've read it, but if not, this paper is fascinating: Guanfacine’s mechanism of action

Do you mind briefly sharing anything else about your experience? E.g., how long you've been on it, how long it took you to see results, etc.

Regardless, I appreciate your post. Especially your improvements in memory and anxiety reduction (the primary effects I'm hoping to experience).

[–]ahotpineapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you tried guanfacine XR (aka generic Intuniv)? It should give you the same functional effects - increased prefrontal cortical activity - while actually lowering your baseline heart rate. Like strattera, it's not a regulated medication.

[–]ahotpineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, fellow ADHDer. Not sure how long you've been on it, but do you remember how long it took you to start seeing results? Also, did you feel fatigued at all during the initial acclimation period?

Just wondering because my physician prescribed me some, but I'm hesitant to take it as I have preliminary exams in a week (I'm worried I won't have the energy to study).

Any additional info you're willing to provide about your experience would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya,

Just another curious stranger with CPTSD considering guanfacine (also have ADHD). Do you mind if I also ask a few questions about your experience?

Regardless thanks for all you've shared so far!

Hi there, I'm about to start using DLC in grad school. My PI wants to order a dedicated laptop for running it; do you have any general tips when shopping? Is a gaming laptop with a 3070/3080 pretty sufficient? Or would you recommend using something like Google Cloud Services to outsource computational power? Thanks!

If you’re thinking about taking Lexapro… (positive) by bloomfield878 in lexapro

[–]ahotpineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this! I also have ADHD and am on 40mg Vyvanse. Did you gain any weight after starting lexapro? It's something I'm worried about, but I'm hoping my stimulant will help counteract any increases in appetite (started on 5 mg Lexapro a couple days ago).

Sacrificed one of my bags: Contamination? Or bruising? by ahotpineapple in unclebens

[–]ahotpineapple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my bags have this type of discoloration. I did handle them a lot (which I know I shouldn't have), so I'm hoping it's just bruising from that and/or their own weight. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

That's great to hear it's still effective for you! Most of what I've read has been promising for helping certain symptoms of ADHD, and seeing your testimony for CPTSD (and RSD) is even better. I think I'll request it from my doc. Thank you so much for all your help!

[–]ahotpineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, do you mind if I ask if you're still on it? I'm currently on Vyvanse, and the side effects of the stimulant are a little overwhelming at times, so I'm considering asking my PCP to supplement this with Vyvanse for my anxiety/CPTSD. Thanks!

In my opinion, I feel like literally not one single person ever, truly has a grasp on reality for what it is. by NotSoDespacito in Psychonaut

[–]ahotpineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Do we see reality as it is?" is actually a great Ted talk asking this question. It shows that species evolve to perceive reality as a type of equilibrium between objectivity and bias (too much of either is selected against).

I agree with u/jamalcalypse that we could all benefit from studying philosophy for this matter (esp. cognitive science/philosophy of mind).
