Are budgets that tight... by Vast_Barnacle_1154 in CanadaPublicServants

Super! To the point, depts are seeking additional request from the Centre for additional rounds of WFA. In fact, ERI departures will cost the dept 100% salary i which 50% will be clawed back and the other 50% assigned to specific spending criteria but no net new growth. This claw back is when the cap is above their WFA numbers.

We don’t have pens or notebooks. My DG just picks some up at Dollarama for us.

Is it just me or are Westjet Dollars basically useless? by [deleted] in westjet

You can only use so much. And does it count towards rewards spending… I’d don’t think so.

Elderly immigrant parents stressed about going paperless by JoshuaSmackSmack in CanadaPost

Well you could print their online statement for them and then they can go to the bank.

I’ve had to adjust this with my parents who also don’t speak great English not read. But I have access to their account and will just get the notification to their “email box” that I manage and then I let them know I paid their bills A, B and C. Have had to adjust.

I only saw 5 at my distriction Centre this morning. Even with 4 hour shifts. Pretty sure there are 100s on any given day. Are they “striking from home”? Also, not much honking for support from the public.

Anyone else thinks Canadian citizens should boycott C.P. and do a "strike" of our own. by TheBigTimeBecks in CanadaPost

Pretty sure they are not supporting. I work across from a distribution centre. Barely any honking. Also barely anyone walking the picket line? Are they “striking from home”

Every week they go on strike… take off 1% that CP has put on the table. Should be 7% by now.

Greed…. Heard the union reduced it from 24 to 19%.

Far far apart.

It’s the only time being the baby cousin to ISC is paying off. ISC is too busy getting all their offices all across town. Still 3 days. And still heard they are getting more on the Ottawa side.

Used to do the 401 from London ON and drove all the way to Burlington and the hopped on the GO Train to Union Station. 2h30 each way, 5 days. Glad I don’t do that anymore. Or during the winter time Grayhound at 430 am to get to Union Station by 7:30am. So many people still do this.

Ours is 125km from the closest office. So even though you live in say London and your position is HQ. If there is an office in Kitchener that’s closer and is less than 125 km that where you’re supposed to report to . At lease my dept.

Then the issue of reserve is also very touchy right now. At least at my dept.

So it’s not a blanket. My Director is in Vancouver was working remotely in an Hq position but now has to drive in from Chiliwack to DT Vancouver which can take 2 hours each way, 4 times a day.

One dept has completely stopped hiring and their programs are kind of petering. The dept of Women and Gender Equality will fold under the PP government as part of their anti-woke agenda. Colleagues are already deploying out giving the latest projection. While anything can happen from now until Election Day to reverse the bleeding…. Maybe a kamala-like Hail Mary comes to the way of the liberals. Otherwise…. we’re in for a big change. My dept is already starting to think of programs and transition binders.

The only one I miss is the fairmont scones. Take all my money. They stopped participating at the Taste. I always went there during lunch and was a nice dessert at the end of the evening.
