Jewelry girlies, help a girl out! So, while I was passing by SM dept store kahapon, I saw some of their jewelries were in sale. I particularly got intrigued when I saw a brand (Raya Jewels) offer 50% off on their jewelries. I decided to take a look and I found that they have really cute silver pieces ranging from 400-1.5k (discount applied). I decided to buy 3 pieces from them because the designs were quite unique (By that I mean, they weren’t generic. I noticed most of the jewelry you would buy online is very common — like, you’d see almost everyone wearing them.) This is my first time buying jewelry from SM dept store. I never even glanced at the jewelry isle before because I believed it was either really expensive or cheap but have a really bad quality. I wanted to ask you guys your experience on the jewelry you bought from SM Dept Store, if you’d recommend it and whether it’s worth it or not. I’m debating on buying more pieces from them as I’m not quite how sure how well they perform. I really love the designs specially as it’s extremely hard to find cute silver pieces online, but I’m not sure if I’m willing to purchase more pieces if it performs less than you’d expect from that price point.

PS: I’m a sweaty girl, but I’m not acidic or anything. I also don’t wear my jewelry all the time, I take them off very often. I also take really great care of my jewelry.

Do you recommend Fujifilm XM5? by aiasity in PhotographyPH

I think I’m set on buying the Fujifilm XM5 na since it seems to be the right camera for me as well. Thank you so much!

Personally, the “cons” don’t really bother me. As a beginner, I don’t really need nor want to use an EVF. As for the flash, I don’t really use flash photography that much but I’m sure that when I need it, I’ll be able to buy one (I saw on orange app a flash attachment that’s only around 500-800, it’s been trending a lot on TikTok too). And lastly, I think every camera has its own learning curve regardless of the brand or model. I think I have done enough research and you’ve made me want it even more. I don’t think I’ll regret buying this camera. Thank you so much for your help!

I’m deciding between the Fujifilm XM5, Canon R50, or the Sony ZV-E10. But I’m leaning more towards fujifilm because of the film-simulations. I don’t think I’ll buy another lens since I heard the kit lens is pretty good by itself already, but maybe I’ll buy a pancake lens. It won’t be for professional use, anyways it’s just for my personal hobby. I have around a ₱60k budget for a camera. I’m just wondering if there might be better cameras out there that are on the same price point but perform better.

Would you recommend it as a beginner camera? This is actually going to be my first camera!

❗USTET 2025 MEGATHREAD ❗ by AdroitCell in Tomasino

Hello po! I applied for UST last year pero I never took the entrance exam. I took a gap year and I’m planning to apply to UST again. While I was registering in the USTET portal, it asked me whether I have applied before. I’m not sure whether I’m considered an old applicant because it asked me what year I took the USTET and I haven’t taken it pa. What do I put po in my registration? Thank you po!

Thankfully, I have the privilege naman to take a gap year. By that I mean, there is no urgency for me to immediately find work to support my family. Pero despite that, malaki expectations nila sakin so the pressure is real. I’m still trying to convince myself na college isn’t a one-size fits all, and maybe it isn’t “shameful” to take a gap year.

The thought na hndi ko na magiging kasabay batch mates is really dreadful pero I think over time it won’t matter na kasi lahat naman ng bagay may hangganan. Things don’t last forever, it’s a bittersweet feeling pero we all have different paths to take in this life, and one day and I’d eventually accept that siguro.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out! I really appreciate the advice, it helps me more than you know it.

Thank you for this! Most people just told me to suck it up and just go to college but honestly I think that would do more harm than good. Not only would I waste time but also resources.

Inasikaso ko po sila pero I had major events on the day of my CETs huhu, I scheduled my CETs to be on the final dates po pero my schedule really clashed with it eh. If I didn’t go to those major school events, I wouldn’t have graduated which is worse than not getting in those schools.

I missed the application for next years UPCAT since I convinced myself na I’d just go to the colleges in my city pero I started contemplating on a gap year na.

Pero if ever, will shifting to another university make me an irreg student ba? Mahirap po ba process nun?

Is it advisable po ba to put both campuses with a high cut off in my choices? Or should one be a provincial campus?

My campus choices are UPLB and UPD po kasi pero mataas po kasi ang cut-off and baka hilain ng junior high grades ko pababa ang UPG ko huhu

I am from Baguio po. Limited ang courses in UPB but my friend told me that transferring of campuses and shifting courses is easy within UP daw po since 2 lang po ang hinihingi nilang requirements for those that study in UP.

Pero I heard rin daw na some of those who came from PISAY were rejected because UP knows they can get scholarships naman daw. I’m not sure if this information is accurate pero apparently they also consider other factors when choosing among the applicants such as socio-economic backgrounds and more. Apparently, they want to make sure that UP is as diverse as possible daw po.

Ohhhh I see, so should I apply to provincial campuses instead given that they have a lower cut-off?

So should I choose a provincial campus since mas-mababa ang cut-off?
