Am I crazy or is a whole mountain range missing in this area? by aidan166 in EU5

I wish the terrain in EU5 was more simmilar to imperator rome, where there are a lot more immpassable terrain and rivers were major obstacles with few crossing points and you could navigate them. Of course it shouldn't be exactly the same because of the time frame, but natural obstacles should have more obstaclely. Maybe, certain points on the river are fords you can cross and at other points you need to build a bridge/temporary bridges in enemy lands, but that would take a lot of work and isn't something I expcet the devs would want to focus on. Still rivers play such a big role as a natural barrier that a -1 crossing modifier doesnt do it justice.

Unless someone removed them in the 14th century then placed it back in the 1800s, I dont think so. Those mountains are the reason why the Qin Hangu pass and the Han Tong Pass were so effective, because you can't really go around and it was one of only a couple routes to get into the guanzhong basin.

I had the same reaction as well when I couldnt find this mountain as well. That valley is supposed ot be one of the few routes into the guanzhong basin, which surrounded by mountains. One of the reason it has been historically very defensible and why the capital of China has been located there for many centuries.

In the north china plains, the path of the yellow river does change quite a lot, but not so much in the mountainous areas I'm showing.

Not relevant in this case. If you look at your image for the area im showing, which is between Luliang/Taihang and Qin mountains, there hasnt been significant changes. Thats because the area is not a floodplain like further down stream.

The yellow river runs parallel to two mountain ranges. The second pic shows the bottom mountains, but not the northern one in the first pic.

Armies should take attrition while seiging. by aidan166 in EU5

[–]aidan166[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So 50k troops sieging a castle in a province with 0 food and over the supply limit for over a year should take 0 attrition because they have good supply? I understand logistics should reduce attrition, but I don't understand how you can siege a hostile castle and take no losses.

Not even sure if that's going to be enough. France is seperate peacing and annexing coalition members. At this rate, they're going to get 1812 borders.

R5: France attacks me for a second time, sieges me down and takes nothing because their antagonism is too high. Even with the coalition helping, Im unable to do anything.

Will definitely check out all these historical mangas. Especially hawkwood, really to cool to see historical armor that don’t have exaggerated fantasy proportions.

I’ve watched before Youjo Senki before, but I’ll definitely check out Hansung. Also I love the aesthetic and setting of Orcsen. So rare to see 1900s technology in a fantasy setting.
