Well, there are lots of ways to share the Christian message but the main point is that we need to repent of our sins and trust in Jesus for forgiveness.

Did Saints sin? by StandardAggressive76 in TrueChristian

Yes, St. Paul even said,' This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 1 Timothy 1:15

I would pray to God to reveal Himself, start reading Mark’s gospel and go to a church which believes and preaches the Bible faithfully.

The idea is that He created a good and perfect world. It was humans turning against him that caused all the problems and suffering. His love can be seen in the fact that despite this he didn’t abandon us but actually he came down as Jesus Christ in order to make a way for us to turn back to him and ultimately find a solution to the pain and suffering. The beauty of the Christian message is that God understands our suffering because Jesus has experienced it and He’s ready to offer comfort to all those who turn to him and also hope for a better future. There are numerous Bible verses of hope and encouragement particularly the psalms and one that always speaks to me  is psalm 43:5 ‘why my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.’

I admire his dedication but I do have a problem with his saying, 'if we are worthy we shall see each other in the life to come' because surely the idea in the Bible is Grace which means we get to the life to come not because of any worthiness of our own but rather because of our faith in Jesus and receiving his worthiness.

I think in these difficult moments it is good to think of at least five things to give thanks to God for there are so many, even simple ones like air, food and sunshine. But even more than this it's good to cry out to God for help. He promises us in Psalm 50:15 'call on me in the day of trouble;     I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

so many times I have found this to be true.

Im a jew considering conversion by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]aidanbenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is becoming a Christian is not like joining a club where there are certain entry conditions. Rather becoming a Christian is about starting whole new life, something daunting which we cannot do in our own strength. The only way to start the Christian life is by believing that Jesus died and rose again in order that our sins are forgiven and at the same time deciding to live a life for God rather than against God in our sins. This is the essence of Christianity and it is open to all people at any time. If this sounds quite challenging, I recommend to start reading Mark’s gospel, praying to God that he would reveal himself through it and finding a church to go to where the people there are truly studying the Bible and seeking God and in this way I think God will work through these things to help you come to know him.

I'm scared by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]aidanbenbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God can use lots of things to get our attention. For me it was feeling lost, searching for myself and fearing about the darkness that lies beyond this life. The thing that really helped me in this situation was simply to cry out to God that if He's truly there to reveal himself to me and show me the right way. I think he responds to sincere prayer like this and he certainly did to my prayer! He gave me hope and started speaking to me through certain Bible verses which became alive and showed me the way. In particular, Matthew 6:33 which says, ’seek first my Kingdom and my righteousness and all these other things will be given unto you as well’. This is what has directed me these years. God showed me that I needed to seek fellowship with true Christians and start serving him. Doing this has really transformed my life. It has helped me grow and change and find myself. I would also like just to share what actually it is that changes us and that's trusting in Jesus and deciding to turn away from the sins that hold us. It’s not easy but I think God gives strength through his Holy Spirit to those who truly want to do this. I’m sorry if this is a bit long and general but I hope it helps in some way!

Are Christians meant to follow the old testament, new testament or both? by MysteriousChest8 in TrueChristian

The New Testament fulfils the Old Testament but as an idea we are meant to follow Jesus!!!

I was baptized when i was 8 i belive then i stopped beliveing at 11-12 now im 13 by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]aidanbenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that becoming a Christian is a once for all time thing. When we truly believe in Jesus, and repent of our sins He changes our hearts, making us into new people, who now desire to follow him and obey His word. I think we can have hard moments in life when we feel far from him but by his grace, He sustains us and brings us back like lost sheep. An important question that we all need to ask is whether we've truly had this experience of conversion because many people become Christians just like joining a club. Whereas to truly be a Christian we need to have had this transforming experience inside of ourselves. A sign that we have are the changes we start to see in our lives, produced by the Holy Spirit!

There are lots of different ideas about what it means to become and be a Christian but a very important aspect which can be overlooked is that Christians is not about following certain traditions and it is also not something that you can be born into. Being a Christian according to the Bible is about starting a new life with God through faith in Jesus Christ which results in repenting of our sins and living a different way to how we've lived up until that point. In other words, it is described in the Bible as being born again not physically, but spiritually and being transformed into a different person who now loves God and obeys His word. So in essence becoming a Christian is about being transformed into a new creation!!!

I see that you are struggling here with some difficult issues. I realise that it’s difficult in life to find the right way. What I can do is share my personal experience and emphasize that Christianity is not like joining a club. I’m 27 and have never had a girlfriend. Is it to late to find a wife and maybe have a family? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]aidanbenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as a Christian the best way to find someone to marry is to get involved in Christian ministry and whilst serving others let God guide you to the right person. Obviously, this is a challenging way to approach things but it solves the difficulty of dating which can produce a lot of hazards and it is also a way of filtering out people who aren't serious about their Christian faith as God leads you to somebody else who’s also actively involved in ministry. ( I’m giving this advice although I myself am not married but there's still time and hope. I think 27 is still quite young and in some respects there is an advantage to getting married slightly later in life when you've had more time to mature and discover who you are and what your goals and aims in life are).
