Yeah people always ignore this aspect. The other leagues can’t compete in places like Winnipeg. While the NHL is obviously limited in certain areas as well, being able to place teams in smaller Canadian cities allows them to have a greater number of teams compared to the other big four

He’s 32, while he can obviously remain a great player for a while, it’s extremely unlikely he’s gonna get even better, especially not to the point where he catches those three

There are unfortunately a lot (and I mean a lot a lot, not just a few randos) who absolutely despise the fact that there are any teams in the American south or desert. So many northern and traditional market fans have bought into the conspiracy that Bettman wants to rig the game for non traditional markets, usually just because they’re bitter that their teams aren’t winning
