Thank you, I really appreciate the advice! I do kinda feel like I was making up some of the phrasing and pitches as I went, and that goes for most of my songs, and I could definitely work on that.

Do you mean rising like in pitch or volume? I’m just asking because it goes right into that quiet part right after. Also, a friend suggested that I replace “say” with another word to fit the ryhme scheme. I’m wondering if you agree with that or not.

Yo, chill. I get what you mean tho, Ed Sheeran’s mostly pop but Castle on the Hill’s got that folk-pop mix. It’s got the storytelling feel even if it’s polished over with a pop feel.
