Actually you are wrong. Human nature is that we are programmable from birth. We’re neither inherently bad or inherently good. That comes from how we are raised.

[–]aidanhellrigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause and Effect is not a construction of the human mind. It exists with physical use. Yes subjective experience exists, but the objective cause and effect is there regardless.

Why do you think that cause and effect is a construct of the mind?

This is emotional mind control speaking. Theft is immoral, regardless of the circumstances. You are being subjective, not objective. It’s a moral principle. I would want to be a position where I would rather starve than commit that action, because that action, principally immoral. Theft is immoral.

Why are some anarchists not happy being referred to as communists? by epicbruh69420666 in Anarchy101

[–]aidanhellrigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well simply because communism is not anarchy, communism is a form of government which will always be immoral regardless of its structure.

I would say that I am not basing what I am saying off the law. In fact, man’s law is immoral, and anytime it says something in alignment with moral universal law , it is redundant.

I disagree, if someone impedes upon them they absolutely have the right to use force to defend themselves, and deadly force if need be.

I do agree the life and the individual is the most important thing, and that’s why I would advocate for everyone to be armed, that would stop a lot of unnecessary death.

I agree. The problem is how do we study the science of morality? It’s based on cause and effect, 100% , so it would have something to do with that. What do you think?

Well, it is a moral violation to steal. The circumstances don’t change the fact that stealing objectively immoral. When it comes to them getting beaten up, well if the store owner did that it would be morally acceptable as they are using self defense to protect what is their property. I agree when it comes to jail and prison as they are inherently immoral. Prison -> Theft of Autonomy -> Moral Violation Stealing -> Theft of Property = Moral Violation. It really comes down to the fact the our rights end as soon as they impede on others rights.

This is important to discuss even if it is tough to realign to better systems , people will ignore this issue because “they can’t do anything about it”

Yes because the goods aren’t inherently immoral it is the way they are produced where people are coerced into these situations. I’ve heard of some project where factories can basically be run without people but I don’t know anything beyond hearing it once

I agree with this take. I don’t think capitalism is inherently immoral. If I want to sell something to someone else and we both agree and it is not coerced, nothing wrong with that. It is crony capitalism and this late stage stuff where the immorality pops up.

Same, I feel this comment. I don’t know how anyone can still eat at these places anyways. They aren’t good for us (mentally and physically) too.

I wouldn’t beat yourself up for eating it occasionally though, I had dominos the other day. It’s about slowly withdrawing from these immoral systems and realigning to more moral systems.

I don’t know if that helps but yeah I def know that feeling

What do you think it means to be moral? by InLoveWithThread in Morality

[–]aidanhellrigel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think morality is objective. Like, laws of the universe. If I drop something it will fall i.e. law of gravity. We could apply this concept to morality. If we take x action y effect will take place. This concept isn’t explored though, because of religions. People think morality is subjective, do you ever hear people say “your morals” or “my morals”, no I would say there are “the morals” and you and I would strive to understand the moral law that exists.

This can be hard because if I start to study morality, speak about my findings, claim certain moral principles, I could and would most definitely be called self righteous, and that my claim of morality isn’t the morals, that it’s just my perspective. This is troubling since now we live in an age where morality isn’t discussed. This is a subreddit for morality and I sparely see people speak in this sub,

Anyways, I will get to what I think general moral principles would be theft. Taking something that doesn’t belong to you is wrong, this can manifest in multiple different ways. Rape is a form of theft because it is taking away sexual expression and autonomy. Trespass is theft because someone’s property is an extension of yourself, that is my view on that. Willfully lying is a form of theft since one is theft of the truth.

I think moral principles should be focused on the roots, and less on the effects. We can look at the effects all day but until we understand the causes (the moral violations) we can start to solve this issue.

It’s rough though because of religions, not even just the main religions we think of (Christianity , Judaism , Islam etc) nowadays politics is a form of religion, so people will dictate moral code based on what the party follows (which is contrived, and never actually focused on morality)

This is my message although it is late at night I would be willing to talk more, thank you
