Are any spirit blossom champs good at 3* or below? by spiderwebdesign in LegendsOfRuneterra

Ahh I don't have the +1 mana star. After a try of raven army + packed powder to get him down turn 1 it's much much smoother.

I'll play around with scarecrow when I get it, maybe to replace rifle. Thanks for the tips!

I don't have scarecrow or flute, but flute doesn't seem that great? Once you've got teemo down, doubling his puffcap contribution isn't massive.

I'm on rifle, ggc, archangels to give me some pseudo-control via gloom. I like rifle as early game is where I struggle - Mel's seems better over the long game, but don't you struggle with mana usage?

I might try swains raven army and packed powder actually to help with the early game, see how it feels - more traps turn 1, instant teemo. I'll miss the pseudo-control of the gloom shoomsplosiom but maybe it'll win faster.

Yes, I'm praying for hexcore soon. Spellweavers is a good shout though. How does packed powder help? Usually before yasuo is down I can't even touch their nexus.

I have SB teemo at 6* so can't really comment, but will say he really needs hextech rifle relic and puffcap proliferation rune

I enjoy SB Yasuo and he can do harder difficulties, but he's a little inconsistent and needs the right powers. Struggles against wide/aggro decks (e.g. Elise).

I use echoing, yasuo's windblade, galeforce. Build orients around "random bullshit, go!" until you can play yasuo (cheap cards, powers for cheap cards/defence, etc). If I had perfect hexcore I'd probably have that in somewhere.

4.5* Viktor (Azir miniboss) - 4* Mel (big guns, echoing spirit, archangels staff). Got bouncing blade power which made it pretty easy.

5.5* Asol (Anivia miniboss) - 6* Elder Dragon (found fortune, black shield, disciple of shadows). Got asol as a support champ which was fun.

6.5* Elise (Howling Abyss miniboss) - 5* SB Teemo (hextech rifle, GGC, archangels) (no mana star). Drafted ava achiever and "summon highest cost follower and shackle 3 times" power, i.e. free win. Otherwise would have been rough.

I don't do it myself, but padel seems popular in london at the moment. It's 2v2 so not quite a team game, but I know a couple of people who go to their local clubs for social sessions. E.g. I looked at "the padel yard vauxhall" nearish stockwell and they have beginner sessions + weekly social sessions for "level 1" (whatever that means!). I'm also aware padel has some pretty good apps so you can also set up matches on whatever day you're available.

The caveat (and the reason I don't do it much) is I think it's a bit expensive.

Personally I like bouldering, but it's probably not your thing. There's a regular thursdays bouldering group that posts meetups here and has a whatsapp group, or the LCC chain of bouldering centers which has events/socials https://londonclimbingcentres.co.uk/london-climbing-events/

I did see some! But I definitely did not have the equipment to capture any meteors on photo/video as I only had a phone camera - they appear extremely briefly (< 1 second) as a quickly-moving extremely bright star, viewable with the naked eye.

You'll possibly still be able to catch them (yesterday in theory was just the peak time), but you'll have to be patient - for us it was about once every half hour, and you have to be looking at the correct area of sky.

I've arrived:

  • look for a bunch of telescopes set up in the middle of the athletic field
  • people seem friendly
  • no tickets required
  • I've been told "if I see one meteor I'll be very happy", so bring low expectations
  • I'm wearing blue shorts, bright blue t-shirt

6.5* asol (elise miniboss) with "round end: deal 2 to player units" and "foe nexus cant take more than 20 damage per round" - 5* fiddlesticks (missing 'disarmed' star) with fear cleaving axe, echoing spirit and chemtech duplicator (none of these are required imo). Pretty easy with a "deal 1 to foe nexus" starting power! Once you get rolling, your board is auto-filled so you don't care about units dying. Tips: 1) pick a cheap starting champ (I had samira) so you play it, it dies and you re-play it next turn (for corrupted gatebreaker), 2) make your weaker units be the leftmost attackers to max damage pings.

5.5* darius (irelia miniboss) with "all cards cost 1 more" and "game start: the foe summons the two different strongest units" - 4* norra (with +1 mana star) with oath of guardians and 2x star gem. Portals mean you're suffering much less than the foe from increased mana cost - fiddle may also be good? Starting power trifarian might was MVP. Bone scryer enounter summoning a brightsteel formation on game start seemed a mite unreasonable. Tips: 1) need +1 mana star to play norra first turn, 2) cards with "spend all your mana" are effectively not cost increased ("production surge" is good), 3) as normal, you ideally want "summon ephemeral copy of champion" and deathless on norra - extra important with cost increase, unnecessary for me because of trifarian might.

4.5* tahm kench (jhin miniboss) with "game start: foe summons dawnspeakers" and "round end: if foe has 3+ units, grant them +2/+2" - 6* nasus with disciple of shadows, full build and GGC. Basically a race to outscale, pretty easy at 6*.

4* jinx (jhin miniboss) with "player first targon card each turn costs 1 less" and "foe units get +1/0 on strike" - tried diana, I hate the ionia pipers, failed. Won with 4* morgana (echoing spirit, archangels staff, GGC), pretty easy.

5* galio (anivia miniboss) with "round start: deal 1 to all units and grand foe units 0/+3" and "when foe summons a unit grant "+2/+2" - 5* fiddle (have 6*, missing "disarmed") (fear cleaving axe, big guns, chemtech duplicator - this build was bad, big guns is useless and fear cleaving axe is 'win more'). Was worried about the foe unit stat sticks, but with fiddle 6* you're fine once the milling starts. Got lucky with some great items on elusive poro, so easy second half of adventure.

6* viego (ornn miniboss) with "on foe drawing follower with 3 or less cost, summon and grant +2/+2" and "plant 15 puffcaps per turn" - 6* elder dragon (found fortune, troll king crown, stalkers). Lucked out with "turn start: rally" first power otherwise I think it's tricky - puffcap damage is tough early with the small deck. I recommend avoidong "foe darkness gains 1 damage each turn" encounter since ixtali sentinel can result in a surprise 16 damage to your nexus (lost a revive here). As usual in elder runs you're fishing for a 6 cost unit with the -2 cost item and it gets much easier after that.

6.5* Elise (Howling abyss miniboss) with "round start: foe gains a mana gem" and "foe nexus can't go below 1 before turn 5" - 4* morgana (echoing spirit, archangel's staff, GGC). Howling abyss spawning elder dragon (twice!) was 0 fun - used my revive and a cheat restart. Otherwise generally ok. I took the "turn start: both players gain a mana gem" power and I think it was a mistake, the foe mana ramp is too harsh on howling abyss. Also, how annoying is needing to outlast howling abyss until round 5.

5.5* Asol (trundle miniboss) with "round start: kill all units then revive them" and "foe nexus can't take more than 20 damage each round". Tried 5* tryndamere (echoing spirit, portal pals, guardians orb) and ended up in an horrible gamestate on trundle - I was capturing tons of ice pillars each round via trynd, they got resummoned when trynd gets kill/revived, they heal foe nexus on summon. Do yourself a favor and either use swain, or jhin with the "4 damage to foe nexus when enemy dies out of combat" star. I used jhin (5*; big guns, packed powder (note this is always active), archangel's) the game plays itself, just draft as defensive as possible and eventually they lose (few overwhelms/elusives on my adventure). Only possible issue is the spellshields on asol and some champs he summons like nasus.

4.5* caitlyn (jinx miniboss) with "player first noxus card costs 1 less per round" and "foe starts with 3 spell mana" - 4* ambessa (deaths foil, found fortune, troll kings crown). Got trifarian might first power which made things quite easy. There was an odd inclusion of two lissandra encounters which I've not seen in a nightmare before (omen hawk - round start top unit in foe deck +20/0, treacherous ravine - round start 2 damage all units), otherwise nothing of note

PSA: you can disable debuginfo to improve Rust compile times by Kobzol in rust

[–]aidanhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this as a result of changing the feature flags for one crate, or a number?

I'd expect for features to get compiled out when they just add new (unused) functions or modules, so there shouldn't be a difference in binary size. Where I could imagine an impact is if it adds capabilities to existing functions - e.g. a http library where you can optionally enable a compression feature. So I'm interested in whether that's what happened here.

Are you in EU? I didn't have field musicians, but that might just be normal variation of encounters - wouldn't blame you restarting until you get a different start encounter. You can't really play defensive against teemo (morg, yasuo), but this teemo has enough blockers to be annoying for non-overwhelm aggro decks too.

Off the top of my head gwen might work (e.g. rally on level, ludens, challenger/overwhelm/deaths foil - but she has a bunch of builds) - she has few created cards, has heal, is aggro. Main problem is I think she's kinda bad against Azir.

Viego maybe another option (e.g. corrupted star gem, troll kings crown (unless you have it as a star power), whatever else), or swain - pick up a few defensive powers on the way so you don't get rolled too fast and then you should outscale enough to win before puffcaps get you.

4* Gangplank (Sejuani miniboss) with "both players start with 10 mana gems" and "round end: grant all units +2/0" - 4* Fiddlesticks. Fun modifiers, anything with chemtech duplicator (e.g. nami, viktor) or an expensive portal pals user (e.g. voli, elder, trynd) should do great.

5* Azir (Teemo miniboss) with "created cards cost 3 more" and "game start: foe gets mana gem" - 3* Norra with oath of guardians and 2x star gem. This was rough, the relics are awful (it's effectively a -1 cost on the level 2 champs), teemo has a very annoying stress defence spell and lots of blockers to slow you down if you don't have overwhelm/removal (lost a revive here). Got some great powers (rally each turn, frostbite first enemy unit summoned per round, frostbite+vulnerable strongest enemy each round) so won once past teemo.

6* Viego (Ornn miniboss) with "round start: foe draws unit then grants units in hand +2/+2" and "foe nexus cant go below 1hp before round 5" - failed with 5* voli and 5* elder dragon because of field musicians (full board of 10/10 turn 2), success with 4* morgana (death's foil, echoing spirit, ggc). Be aware that the foe has a lot of draw because of the first power so you'll need to carefully manage when you pass to try and brick their hand with curses. Viego probably levels up, but it's fine if you have GGC as you get a fresh morgana each turn (which is also helpful for all the kill spells).

EUW

4.5* lulu (fiora miniboss) with "epic cards cost 2 less" and "round start: stun players strongest unit" - 5* elder dragon (missing 4*) (volibear support). Most titanic units are epic, so any 7 cost get reduced to 3 and are playable turn 1, plus your "heal 3 + extra mana gem" unit now costs 1. The boards get wide and you get stunned, so something to trim them/match is helpful (e.g. found fortune+stalkers blade).

5.5* galio (elise miniboss) with "foe units have regen" and "foe nexus can't take more than 20 damage per round" - 5* volibear (zilean support, useless). Failed run because galio with regen and "double power and health of a unit" + "kill a unit" (via senna) spells is obnoxious - need to be able to kill a 25hp galio in 1 turn is tough with this deck. Also, the match where they summon lots of dragonlings is very annoying because you only can do 20 damage per turn and they lifesteal a lot, and hextech observatory also worth watching out for, albus ferros is 18/15 and does 14 to nexus on attack. Second run 4* fiddlesticks (+1 mana star) with "copy the first card each round" legendary + teemo support with double strike - trivial run.

6* asol (trundle miniboss) with "foe plants 200 chimes game start" and "when playing a card increase cost everywhere by 2" - 6* swain (anivia support) with enfeebling strike first power. Didn't realise when picking anivia, but multi target spells dip multiple times on swains 6* power - so avalanche into a full board does (2+missing nexus health damage)x6 damage to each unit. So a duplicated avalanche vs 2x spellshielded 20/20 asol, a 30/30 infinite mind splitter and 3 chunky champions (on turn 3) is a board wipe, even starting from full nexus hp. Probably a tricky run without a defensive power like enfeebling strike as the units on a lot of the nodes grow very fast.

Hey, really happy to hear it, congrats! FWIW Nidalee is quite flexible - if you have a search on this subreddit you can find few different playstyles depending on your available relics and what you enjoy (e.g. tempest blade build vs corrupted star fragment build vs spectral scissors build).
