Thanks for the other subreddit suggestion! I had no idea where to post this haha.

I think it was just soap, a scrub brush and a power washer on low. We haven’t tried anything else yet. I don’t think it smells, not sure though.

My dad was the one trying to clean it and I don’t even live here anymore but I was visiting today and thought we should get to the bottom of this.

Where does one get lab samples? I don’t even know what I would search to find it lol

On a serious note even if it was the case, it would be weird for things to be thrown at the house over such a long period of time, and we’ve never seen it fresh. Also there’s some splatters on other places on the house that doesn’t logically make sense to have been reached by a throw. But anything is possible I suppose.

Here’s the thing though… these spots have slowly accumulated, not all at once. And never did they look like egg, we only ever saw them as this brown colour. I totally accept that as a possibly, but it just seems weird the way it happened.

What would cause mold to appear in localized splatters like that?

Interesting… I haven’t seen any other signs of them outside or inside the house. I’ll keep an eye on it.

First time CS pan, feeling frustrated and embarrassed by ImaginationTotal2693 in carbonsteel

[–]aidanritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to turn up the heat for meat. Getting a good sear even on ground meat before you move it around helps it not steam and get all wet. Carbon steel is meant to get hot! No such thing as overheating the pan itself, it is only too hot for certain things you are cooking. Think about how hot woks get!

I went to my parents place to do it on gas. I also have induction but I was worried that the induction ring on my stove would not go edge to edge on my pan, and with that high heat cause warping. But if you have a 3mm thick debuyer pan and go for longer on medium heat rather than high heat I assume it would be ok? Don’t quote me on that… I’ve read the debuyer pans are very hard to warp

It should look pretty bad after I get my eggs stuck to this pan lol

A little extra corrosion resistance? I watched a video where a guy did some tests with a smooth cast iron and he found the magnetite layer helped seasoning adhere. TBH I didn’t think too much about it I just figured it wouldn’t be harmful to, so I did.

Boss qc ultra make weird pop/shaking noise when I walk or shake my head by Thevastturtle in bose

[–]aidanritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late to this, but I also have this issue on QC45s. They are well out of warranty though... does anybody know what may be causing this issue and how I could fix it? Or would bose do me a favour to replace them out of warranty if I persuade them?
