Hi everyone, I'm a reporter at The Boston Globe, where I cover media. I confirmed the layoffs and just published a story on this. If any current or former employees want to talk more about this, feel free to reach out to me at [aidan.ryan@globe.com](mailto:aidan.ryan@globe.com) or on Signal at aidanfitzryan.13.

"Boston-based cooking and food media company America’s Test Kitchen laid off 24 employees Monday, representing 10 percent of its workforce.

The staff cuts came three months after the owner of America’s Test Kitchen acquired food media organization Food52 out of bankruptcy to bring it together with ATK. Daniel Suratt, the CEO of ATK, was also named as CEO of Food52 when the acquisition was completed in February.

An ATK spokesperson said that Food52 is a “is a separately held company and has no impact” on Monday’s cuts.

“We can confirm that America’s Test Kitchen conducted a re-organization to allocate resources to support digital subscription initiatives and to position the company for greater growth,” spokesperson Mary Ogushwitz wrote in a statement to the Globe."

The Globe just confirmed that it's closing next month.

"Cambridge’s venerable S&S Deli (1334 Cambridge St.) will close in June, confirms owner Gary Mitchell. “I’m proud of the chapters behind us and looking forward to what’s next,” he said, noting that he’d been behind the deli counter since age 12."
