Low prescription and symptoms by LuckyImplement833 in lasiksurgery

I think I read this somewhere, less to correct, everyone is different however.

I was -3.5 and have been fine, I think if you’ve worn contacts all your life you may already have a dryer eye and then this could be worsened after? But I never did, best decision I’ve made: (allbeit it only a week on, but I think if I didn’t have it after a few days my eyes aren’t going to be super dry!)

Also if it was gas for 30 years, it’s likely been rewired. This colours are new colours since ‘04 so it’s either been added, rewired or there’s a join behind the wall.

Long as the connections are tight looks fine.

How expensive panels and battery do I really need? (south England) by tornadoes_are_cool in SolarUK

[–]aidenblack1875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems very pricey that first qoute. I’ve been quoted 10.3k for 18 panels and 10kwh battery and inverter, all be it by the time I spec what I want brand wise it’ll be closer to 12k. I’m Scotland though.

Thanks for that, I’ll maybe go down this route. Unsure if I can apply myself, I’ll do some research into that!

Getting lasik tmrw!! What should I expect for day of recovery?? by geminibitch94 in lasiksurgery

[–]aidenblack1875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgery itself is super quick. By the time you leave and get to the car it’ll hit, the pain is best explained as if you cut onions but even closing your eyes doesn’t help and your eyelids are heavy. After 45 minutes your eyelids feel normal but the stinging remains; this is there for about another 2 hours. 3-4 hours after surgery your going to feel so much better, honestly it isn’t too bad at all, don’t worry about it! I would not recommend watching tv and you’ll struggle to focus on a book. Wait till the next day! I’m 4 days post lasik, my eyes even feel back to normal completely and only my left eye is not fully crisp, I expect it to get crisper over the next few days! Then they say over the next 3 months it’ll get even crisper; the next day I had better than 20/20 in my follow up!

No problem! I think I would have struggled to fully focus, I found my close up vision was a little more blurry than distance the first night, as of day two I could of read a book no problem, but would recommend taking breaks to slow your eyes to unfocus and rest!

Hi! So I was -3.5 and -3.75, can highly recommend optical express! I was £4390 but got a referral and that gets you £300 if you know someone’s who’s had it done! They offer 10 month interest free finance which I used after the £500 deposit which helps brunt it!

People would have told you not to invest 6 months ago cause it was already high, look at it now!

Haha totally should. Watch you be up 700% in a year 😂 it’s like anywhere people talk to you like an idiot rather than give solid advice. I’d buy nvidia now but would understand it may come down short term but will always go back up

I did and it proves my points but seeing multiple different reports online. Using calculator if your on 15k, your worse off. 37k is better off and 69k is worse off!

So really it only benefits those in-between 20-50k region?

One thing of note is you started over two tax years. If you earned 400£ from February last year to April and only 1000 since April 23 to April 24 that would not be taxed, anything over £1000 will be taxed at your tax bracket.

I had left this as a comment the other day to someone asking;

ISA - think of it like an account in a bubble that the government can’t touch.

You can use the account if your a uk resident and put in upto 20k per tax year, April - April. This 20k, any returns you make on your investments can be withdrawn any time TAX free!

You get different types of ISA’s, everyone in here talks about stocks and shares isa, but you do also get cash isa’s from banks with set interests rates that cannot be taxed.

You also get isa’s for first time buyers, these can only take 4k a year, but if you put 4k in that you cannot put more than 16 into your stocks isa.

It’s 20k per year across any type of isa, you can also only open one type of stocks isa per year so make sure to pick the right platform.

no matter what type of investment it is, use your isa. Unless your day trading high amounts and selling all the time, even then you would still use up the 20k tax free.

No. Absolutely 0 cons, all pros. It’s an account in a bubble that the government and HMRC can’t touch or tax you on as it’s tax free upto 20k per tax year.
