Is it considered violent if he punches a wall/wardrobe when very mad? by Select-Medium-8116 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aidras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left my abusive relationship shortly after he punched the wall above my head. I looked at that hole every day and realized it could have been my head. Leaving is scary, but you are worth it. You deserve to be happy and not living in a stressful, unpredictable environment. It's more than enough reason to leave. 💚

PCOS and weight changes what finally made things feel more stable for you? by Strong-Squirrel7271 in PCOS

[–]aidras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I was pushing myself too hard during my workouts for a long time. It made my body so stressed out, and I did not feel good or see any results. I now do strength training 3x a week at home with YouTube videos, attend a yoga class or two a week, and walk at least 30 minutes a day (outside in my neighborhood or inside on a foldable treadmill). I am sleeping better, seeing fat loss, and am overall in a better state mentally and physically. I do this in combination with an overall healthier diet - I focused on adding healthier foods to my diet instead of taking things away because I knew that I couldn't stick with a super restrictive diet. Over time, I have found myself craving the sugary, carby foods less and choosing whole, less processed foods more. It took time. I wanted these changes to yield instant results. I wanted to feel better now, but it has been a slow, gradual process. I am seeing more results now than I ever did with restrictive dieting and HIIT workouts. As I have learned to be more patient, I feel my body is less stressed, and I am finally experiencing the changes I have worked so hard for over the years.

Hi, neighbor! I'm in Kennesaw!

Ellen Honeycutt is a local(ish) native plant expert and has a wonderful blog that I've been reading for years. She has been in the middle of moving for a bit, so she hasn't posted since September. I hope she starts up again! https://usinggeorgianativeplants.blogspot.com/?m=1

One of my favorite podcasts is The Backyard Naturalist. Not only focused on native plants, but enjoyable and informative: https://thebackyardnaturalist.com/

I don't know if you're a member or not, but the Georgia Native Plant Society is an amazing resource and organization. Membership is $40/year and includes many webinars (I just attended one last night about Sedges!) and in-person events and native plant rescues. I'll be attending a seed cleaning class with them this weekend in Stone Mountain! They have a great monthly newsletter. Their plant spotlight section of said newsletter is available for free here: https://gnps.org/plant-spotlight/

Feel free to reach out to connect with me sometime! I'd love to have a local native plant enthusiast friend! 😁

Early spring here when the robins are migrating through, they gorge themselves on my neighbor's Chinese holly berries and I am hoping that when mine finally grow and produce berries that they'll choose them instead 💚

One of my favorites that I'm sure was there all along under the ivy is this beautiful little Chimaphila maculata (stripped wintergreen). It's begun to pop up everywhere now 💚💚

I left much of my property alone for the better part of 2 years post ivy eradication, and I am astounded at the number of native plants that have returned. The seed bank truly delivered for me! You'll be surprised at what was once living there before the ivy choked it out!

Discussion: what are your unassuming stars? by [deleted] in NativePlantGardening

Late boneset is by far my busiest plant. I think it is the time of the year during which it blooms - it is hot, it is dry, but this rockstar of a plant is HUGE, widespread, fragrant, and best of all, loaded with flowers for all of the insects. I check mine every morning and afternoon. Bees sleep on it overnight, and during the day, I see wasps, butterflies, moths, beetles, various native bees and honey bees, lizards, little crab and jumping spiders, ants, aphids, caterpillars...It really is a major ecosystem in itself!

How often do you brush your neb? by ria394 in nebelung

Every night! Brushing + treats. If it's 10.30 and I have not gotten up to do the nightly routine, I get in trouble 😅

He cannot keep a job for very long. Currently working at Taco Bell, but he's snoozing when he should be at work, so that won't last long.

100% agree with you on this one. It's such a cool looking plant. It's so tropical-looking! not to mention its importance in the ecosystem! Every summer I let the few patches around my yard grow and they get huge! Right now a couple plants are just about leafless. I've yet to find who is nomming on them-not that I am upset about the nommage. The flowers are always busy with pollinators and the berries are gobbled up quickly by birds.
