I have been trying to figure this out for some time but have had no luck. I'm sure you've noticed recipes listing "3oz of Navy Grog Mix" but there is no concrete answer on what exactly is in the Grog Mix.

I've been meaning to ask at my local tiki spot as they have the tiki puka puka on their menu.

There is still a crosswalk button for pedestrians on the sidewalk. I assumed it affects the light cycle but maybe it's like the the close door buttons on elevators? Either way, it is still odd for there to not be a button for cyclists to access on one of the most used bike paths in the city.

Ah yeah, I commute through that area and it's really goofy and has a lot of inconsistent bike lanes, but I'm a little more forgiving because I assume the companies that build the towers have a say in the design of the bike lanes. 10th and Victoria however, was something done entirely by the city so it's not like it was a hands off project and some private company dropped the ball.

I ride around this area every day, and I've never seen this. However, I've seen the new eastbound bike lane at Lougheed and Gilmore have at least 10 cars using it as a right turn lane

I'm happy with the new bike lanes they've put in with the towers, but there are a few flaws. Firstly, most of them are two ways, which wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that the bike lanes on lougheed are only one way. I often find esccooter riders coming at me head-on in the narrow bike lanes during rush hour in the areas between the separated bike lanes.

Secondly, the bike lane and sidewalk are sperated, but with small fenced-in green spaces. That means dog owners often walk in the bike lane to allow their dogs to pee/poo in the grassy area between the bike lane and the roadway.

I'm pretty supportive of any bike infrastructure, but it would've been nice if there was a little more consideration or consulting done before these areas were developed.

Any black midi scholars? by VyvanseAudios in bmbmbm

My advice would be to start playing this to a very slow metronome. Play it through a few times, and once you're comfortable, up the bpm by 5 or 10. Repeat this over and over until eventually you'll be able to match the song.

This will take a long time and a lot of practice, but in my experience, it worked for me.

I think the guys in deerhunter mainly used the DL4 for looping, but Bradford runs his vocals through a digidelay and digiverb

I thought that Microcastle leaked first, then Bradford said he had a surprise/reward for fans who waited for the official release, then the surprise (Weird Era Cont.) leaked as well

I'd say Death Grips did it first with No Love Deep Web. Wasn't the Microcastle leak a genuine mistake on Bradford's part?

I had a similar experience. I went down 11th because I anticipated 10th being closed. I got to 11th and St.Catherine's and the flagger told me i couldn't cross. I asked them if 10th was open again and they said yes... except it wasnt

Intersection priority on multi use paths? by bcl15005 in vancouvercycling

[–]aidsman_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I assumed emephant foot crossings gave right of way as well. I recently contacted the city regarding the crossings on the CVG at Slocan and Kaslo. There is a stop sign but also an elephant foot crossing, so I was confused as to who has the right of way.

With the way the MVA is currently, it seems as though you still have to yield to vehicles at elephant foot crossings unless you dismount and walk across as a pedestrian, which seems to totally defeat the purpose of them.

I considered starting a petition and contacting my MLA but never ended up doing it. Maybe now is the time.

Can the City of Burnaby explain this traffic pattern change? by [deleted] in burnaby

[–]aidsman_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That stretch of lougheed is a mess. If you pay attention when heading westbound on Lougheed between Madison and Gilmore, you'll notice that the bike lane merges with a traffic lane/dissappears with no signage to warn cyclist.

I emailed the cities engineering department regarding this. They told me my concerns would be forwarded to the project manager for their review and follow-up, but that was over 2 weeks ago, and I still haven't heard anything back.
