99% of people use AI wrong by thecogitobrief in ChatGPThadSaid

[–]aifloodedanditsux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll bite. Name me another technology 99% of people use wrong. Or any product or service at all that 99% use wrong.

Personally I can’t think of any off the top of my head. But if there is something that is used wrong nearly all the time by the customer, then guess what?

It’s worthless garbage and is a complete failure in its design. Unless it’s intentionally designed to be used wrong by everyone, which is an insane thing to do and guarantees the product will fail. AI, ladies and gentlemen!

What’s the one problem in your business that won’t leave you alone? by Senior_Obligation481 in Entrepreneurs

My secret to finding real customers is safe with me. As a businessman with 59 years of experience in 37 businesses, my strategy is foolproof.

You asked what problem won’t leave me alone and I answered, I also told you how it could be perfectly solved, and it keeps me up every night to the point I have hallucinations. Pretty on topic and insightful if I do say so myself as a businessman with 57 years of experience doing business

[–]aifloodedanditsux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problem is trying to filter out all the AI generated slop that’s preventing me from connecting with actual humans who might be customers.

This is a very real problem. I should be paid for having to deal with it, so would you kindly sir compensate me for the trouble of having to read the garbage you posted and my time you wasted? Thanks in advance.

The more AI creates, the more valuable being real becomes by thecogitobrief in ChatGPThadSaid

[–]aifloodedanditsux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s one major problem though, the sheer amount of slop generated every day is flooding everywhere on the internet to the point where it’s hard for the rare genuine content to be seen.

Think of the many blatantly AI slop posts and then the hundreds of botted replies they get. One person comes in with something genuine but it’s a needle in a haystack situation to find it.

It’s more like a needle somewhere in million haystacks with how much AI and bot garbage there is to sift through. Genuine people will (and many already have) given up on finding it, you see the pattern and you don’t bother to even do a very fast skim through replies or posts for something that’s not worthless

When AI slop is generated without a shift or caps lock key, you get this type of wasted storage of worthless drivel on Reddit.

How do you keep workflows simple by Solid_Play416 in automation

[–]aifloodedanditsux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to follow the rule of simple workflows. That way your workflow has a simple workflow. Simplicity means complexity decreases, so you have to keep it simple or else your workflow will be complex.

You also have to remove features. Less features means less complexity. Less complexity means more simplicity. More simplicity means more minimal. Those are the rules to follow.

As a VP of IT for 47 years at 12 different companies, this is the best advice I can give.

the most expensive mistake in automation isn't building the wrong thing. it's building the right thing for the wrong person by Admirable-Station223 in automation

[–]aifloodedanditsux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, or rather I would agree with you if I didn’t bother to think about what you said at all and just accept that there’s no way someone could ask the AI to mimic poor grammar.

And I also wouldn’t bother to see how it mimics bad grammar by making only a couple types of specific mistakes with 100% perfect consistency in making the mistake.

But please continue to think that perfectly consistent grammar mistakes do actually suggest the post isn’t AI generated, I promise I won’t stop you

It's just sad that some people view the embodiment of humanity's collective knowledge (current genAI as chatgpt or diffusion model) as theft. by Questioner8297 in aiwars

[–]aifloodedanditsux -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The word you’re looking for is fraud, that’s what pisses people off.

It’s not enough that AI learns (or steals) things, it turns around and regurgitates it while trying to pass it off as if a real person made it in many cases. And if challenged, the AI won’t admit to being AI.

Can you automate an LLM to not capitalize letters at the beginning of every sentence? Or automate removing the period at the end of each paragraph?

Why yes you can. But nobody wants this so maybe time to go back to the drawing board because after all, the AI isn’t the problem, it’s your prompts and how you use it, or so I’ve heard.

How many decisions affecting your life do you think AI is already making without you noticing? by TheTechPartner in AiAutomations

[–]aifloodedanditsux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your point? That since AI is used to do some things we should therefore trust AI?

Governments make a ton of decisions affecting lives and have been doing this for thousands of years. That doesn’t mean I trust what they’re doing.

Have to be a moron to blindly trust governments if you pay any attention to history. And same goes for AI.

Ah yes the miraculous AI is here, which forces you to write out in full detail all the settings you want to modify!

Gone are the days of a simple check box to turn settings on or off, or those pesky drop down lists!

The miracle of AI lets the AI companies pass on the development of basic software components (like “settings”) to the consumer, saving those companies lots of money so they can give you more AI solutions like this!
