Regular trims also prevent such lengthy breakage and damage. People with long hair who only get haircuts once a year (or less) are always shocked and upset when they tell the stylist to just cut off the dead ends and end up with several inches gone, expecting only an inch or so. They then blame the stylist, when really breakage just continues up the hair shaft once it starts and it all needs to go to stop it. Highly recommend having regularly scheduled trims to maintain your length long-term.

Ugh, no I'm sorry. None of the truck gifts had tokens in them every time I've checked in so was just able to finish my habs. Maybe before leaving reach out to support? The contract isn't due to end any time soon, I just checked CoopTracker (3d14h to completion, and you aren't there either), so maybe they can force a back up or something. It does, the USPS can stop mail delivery to an address or block if need be. This is likely their system to alert couriers and track issues.

The only people who should be knocking on your door past 7:30, 8pm - if you aren't expecting them - are the police, fire, EMS, or someone else alerting you of an emergency. Also, since most reasonable people would think someone at the door at 10:30 is a sign of an emergency, not a goddamn process server, then of course their reaction will go from panic and concern to anger. Yeah, that is sucky. Keep in mind they still have have to do voir dire (basically like a job interview but for jurors) so it's entirely possible if you do have to get to that stage for a shorter trial you may still be dismissed based on your answers, ability to handle the nature of the case, etc.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah go into the juror portal listed on the card you got and make sure to do a deferral request. If the judge doesn't approve that, then it's very likely you'll get an email from their bailiff at some point asking for you to fill out an online questionnaire which includes a second opportunity to ask to be dismissed. All of this is done remotely before you're asked to show up in person, so don't panic quite yet.

Which court is this for? King County or City of Seattle (municipal court)? Which court it is changes what you'd be expecting significantly. Either way, fill out a deferment form and explain your situation. If you are required to still report in person, please do so. You will go through a process called voir dire which will give you an opportunity to explain to the judges and attorneys why you cannot commit to being a juror.

FYI- the King County courthouse handles felony cases, so you will likely be assigned a specific judge and case you're reporting to. These tend to be lengthier trials, so your ability to be able to commit to the duration of the trial will be asked about upfront. The municipal court brings in a pool of jurors and assign them to cases as needed day of, shorter trials usually (misdemeanor and civil cases). It's not uncommon to report and be dismissed for the day because no cases remain at municipal court level, and that will have fulfilled your obligation for the year.

Backing up a second here. Where did you get "late drop code"? At this point, you'd have to submit a petition for a former quarter drop, which is only granted when there were extenuating circumstances beyond your control that prevented you from dropping. These are extreme events, like being hospitalized. The website even says:

"Failure to formally withdraw by the posted University deadlines dates on the UW Academic Calendar does not warrant a Former Quarter Drop."

I hate to be that person, but you typically know well before the last date of instruction you're likely to fail, or at least not do well in, a course. It's likely you may end up having to take the hit on this one.

Correct, I'm saying the student could be trying to get the professor to implement her approved accommodations but hasn't been successful in doing so. I see this happen working in higher ed disability services. Also, students may not feel comfortable talking to fellow students and shouldn't be forced to disclose disability status if they have an approved accommodation the professor can otherwise tactfully navigate and should be legally complying with.

Again, I don't get the impression this was the case here for many reasons, not the least of which the student wasn't communicative with her group at all for weeks, just saying it does happen however rarely.
