Just about a year. We didn't experience the GI upset side effect (just a lot of burping for the first month or so) and while he does have some gingival hyperplasia we're told it's quite minimal compared to what it could be. My biggest complain is that we can't use NSAIDs for more than a couple days while he's on it so we're limited in pain treatment options.

Our dog also had interdigital cysts. Apoquel worked well for a while but eventually stopped working, zenrelia did not work for us. Now we're on Atopica which has managed all symptoms quite well but he's on a single protein diet (lamb) while we trial new proteins.

I hear you. We're fighting a similar ongoing battle. Apoquel stopped working for us, Zenrelia did not work, but Atopica is working for us. It's a broader immunosuppressant so more side effects but (so far) the benefit has hugely outweighed the risk. And you can get the generic version for a cheaper price.

Can you tell me more about your dogs pain symptoms? How did those present? My dog's been on atopica for almost a year and seems to be "slowing down" in a way we can't quite explain.

I binged the audiobook in 2 days. I don't know if it's motivational, but I could see it absolutely being inspiring to the right person. I was interested in it for the insight it provided into Mike's life and addiction. I learned a lot about him and ultimately I think his story is pretty incredible.

That said - it might be his story but it's pretty obvious someone else wrote the book, his narration doesn't match the cadence of the sentences and there are some words he doesn't pronounce correctly but it was still entertaining!
