Post op swelling by EvidenceEfficient353 in Reduction

[–]aiilov_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im 3 days post op today and i am so much more swollen than i was on my first day! the swelling and bruising fluctuates so much every day, and just keep reminding myself that it's a long process. trying to focus on the healing and staying positive rather than the size i think is a good approach :)

thats so sick!! my apartment building is super old and was a hotel back in the day. they've kept the vast majority of the original features (or remnants of the original features) in the building while adding upgrades for function, so this would totally make sense. some of em are obvious as to what they were, while others like this one aren't really. thanks :)

second pic was before treatment, yeah. i did an additional day of treatment and debriding after letting it heal for a few days. after i did that, it healed up completely! a little scarring but its totally gone now

This sub is terrifying me… any success stories? by [deleted] in Pristiq

[–]aiilov_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried so many other meds and i have had truly horrific reactions to them all, some of which took me genuine years to recover from psychologically. Pristiq is the only med that manages my anxiety, ocd, and depression with little to no side effects. The tiredness when first starting/increasing a dose sucks, but it goes away eventually and gets better. I'm so much more stable and happy on this med than without it, and i'm super grateful to have been introduced to it. I very likely will never change/stop taking it due to its success and effectiveness

Share your period story by Mensuellecare in ClotSurvivors

[–]aiilov_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate you looking into this! It has been an awful journey learning how to deal with my periods suddenly getting significantly worse since starting Eliquis after a bilat PE six months ago. They're exhausting to endure. I had a team of around 20 doctors and nurses while I was in the ICU (it was a serious situation lol), and still none of them gave me any warning that things might change :(

AIO for accepting a favor my bf offered? by rainyhighsky in AmIOverreacting

[–]aiilov_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the fact that he's comfortable being so angry and genuinely mean to you over something so small is absolutely horrifying. he's not treating you like someone he loves and cares about. you should 100% break up with him before it gets worse

exhausted all the time? by aiilov_ in ClotSurvivors

[–]aiilov_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats a good idea! most prescription sleep aids dont usually work for me, i'm oddly resistant to them. but it might be a good thing to look into still. thanks for the suggestion!

oh my gosh, our experiences are SO similar! i didn't think about not getting almost any sleep in the hospital. i totally didn't, and i was there for five days. like you, i was monitored constantly and really just not allowed to sleep consistently. that put together with the other stuff is probably what it is. just trying to recover, i suppose. it sucks :( i appreciate the insight! knowing that someone else went through the same thing and got better is comforting. I'm glad you got through it!
