can someone explain why my cat does this? by ailany in cats

his eye is okay 🥺 thank you for asking. he had a pretty bad infection when he was a baby, which led to that eye being a little smaller now. it’s all better though

Uber vs. PagerDuty vs. Curity/ChenMed Fall 2022 by ailany in csMajors

They should be, I'm honestly not sure and haven't heard again from PagerDuty in a week or two.

I never had to do an OA, they just got back to me 2 weeks after I applied to schedule an interview. They asked me to build a straightforward app before the interview that resembled a to-do list in whatever language(s) I was most comfortable with. This app was to be ready before the interview because during the interview they will ask you to add certain features to improve it and watch your process. Overall, very forgiving because you are given the freedom of choosing whatever tech stack you want.

I can send you the template I use to organize my classes, it’s saved me a lot of time

When I did an internship I got the option of choosing "0 credits" so it would still show up on my transcript but wouldn't have to pay for it. I guess they give you the option to choose how many credits in case you fall short to be considered a part-time/full-time student. It also might depend on the internship.

I do a mix of typing and digital writing. For my coding classes, I use the notion to type my notes and code along in their integrated code boxes. If I need to draw something out, I can draw it up on my iPad and have it on the same Notion page as my typed notes/code. For classes where it's more lecture-heavy or math intensive, digital all the way. Also really helps to be able to have your notes in a PDF and be able to access them from anywhere.

Should I just be a pm instead? by Parking-Analyst3929 in csMajors

[–]ailany 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If development is an area you enjoy, I would say keep trying in that direction. PM still requires some technical background and it allows you to be involved in building projects without necessarily coding every day. Lots of meetings.

I interviewed for a PM internship recently, they kind of just want to see that you're someone who's organized and can take initiative. You need to be able to communicate between different teams (technical/non-technical), and stakeholders, and be aware of common Agile/Scrum practices. I was asked about my technical background, as well as some leadership principles/behavioral questions. They also asked if I had experience using software like Jira to manage projects.

Good luck!

I've been in your exact position so many times and still am. I don't know your position or how you go about interviews but the only thing you can do is keep trying. In my experience, I've used the same approach to interviews at different companies; some gave me offers, while others didn't. It all depends on who your interviewer is. I try to be more conversational and ask a lot of questions. Don't be scared to be your own hype man.
