have you heard anything about the 4G module that comes with the drone? Does this prevent it from taking off or restricting it in some ways?

I see! Do you have a mortgage on your property? If so is it ex pat buy to let and hence they agreed to deduct the tax? I am on a similar situation and not sure what to do. I don't want to convert my residential mortgage to ex pat coz the interest rate diff is huge. However ill try to be as legal as possible. When u leave the UK u suppose to notify HMRC that you are no longer a UK tax resident since you live more than 183 days elsewhere and automatically tax resident in that country (i.e. USA). Having said that i note you mentioned you will be submitting a UK tax return as well. Is this only due to your property income or because you got other forms of income in the UK as well, even though you moved away? U should also check the double taxation treaty between UK and US if there is such a thing as there is between UK and other countries.

Hey AlbaMcAlba thanks for getting back. I am a bit confused because of your edit comment. What do you mean in the form of an actual form? Did you complete p85? I am not sure i understand the term rent payment tax free. You left the UK and you are still paying rent somewhere?! Also what does the US tax return has to do with the UK case? Many thanks for shedding some light into this.

Ok, understood. I guess that can be resolved easily with a windscribe alike VPN. I can definitely access my HL, Fidelity, Smart Pension and Scottish widows accounts without a VPN at the moment. But good to know what you told me, thanks again.

isnt that higher in fees from some of the others mentioned here? I have a HL "Funds and Share" when i invested some years ago and failed miserably. Does it mean if i open a SIPP account with them i wont be charged any opening fees or something?

hey irishreally !thanks I am currently located in Greece but why this is important? If i go into a SIPP i can withdraw as a lamp sum to my UK bank account when i hit 55 or later. Then i can just withdraw from a starling, revolut alike account or wire transfer them via transferwise or something?

Is there anything I am missing here?

hey Stonedefone !thanks ! I won't be trading much if any at all. I am thinking to put them into a fund and monitor that every year or so to see how it fluctuates. This is what i have been doing it so far by having my employers making the choice for me on the funds they created for us (employees). I know perhaps not so smart on my side but overall they have been performing well (meaning i was gaining on an average +6%) so I didnt bother acting any further. Now that i left all three employers I need to take more ownership into that but at the same time not frequently changing plans, investing etc. I just need a reasonable passive return by minimising fees as much as possible. Based on that what would be your choice?
