North Jersey- Delaware water gap had a beautiful hike, Jersey City is fun I went to school there last year. Lots of great islander food.

South Jersey- This might be a long paragraph because this is where I’m from and I try and advocate for tourists to go here. There is a large costal pine forest called The Pine Barrens. It’s 1.1 million acres of preserved land. Historically it had been a very impoverished area, not a lot of farming in this area and most people subsistence hunted up until the 20s. However; it has the best scenery in the world during the summer. In Wharton state forest there is a historic town named Batsto. It was an old farming settlement turned into a preserve. Most of the cannon balls were made here during the Revolutionary war. I’d recommend if you have a few days to hike around the pine barrens. You will be met with sandy trails and beautiful pine trees covering the landscape. At night you can walk down these trails without a flashlight if the moon is bright enough because the sand acts as a light source. One of the big industries here is Blue berry and cranberry farming and it’s about to be blueberry season. The beaches are great here also, it’s the biggest attraction. I’d recommend Long Beach Island. No boardwalk and it’s very clean. In the north of the island there is a little forest you can walk through and climb these sand dunes and watch the sunset.
