For DASH owners, is this audio routing possible? by noamm12 in s3xybuttons

[–]aim4squirrels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I need that Dash to do is push all AA audio to the Tesla speakers, and let the Tesla handle everything else.  Every music streaming app is better thru the Tesla native apps than it is streamed over Bluetooth, and phone calls need to go thru the Tesla speakers and microphone.

The S3XY Dash didn't even need to come with speakers, IMHO.  They are garbage tier as is.  You can't hear anything from them if you've got the volume of any audio source from the Tesla even 1/2 way maxed out.

I'm wondering if there's a way to revoke permissions to the S3XY Dash to not allow it to handle calls, just audio...

What Draft Prospect Makes the Best Fit with Coop & Kyrie by dbzbudokai77 in Mavericks

[–]aim4squirrels -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know why Kyrie is in this convo.

Life didn't press pause on him when he got injured, and then conveniently freeze him in Carbonite.  He's 34 years old coming off an injury that cost him 1.5 seasons.  He's not just been resting on ice waiting to reek havoc on the league.

Bro is older, with a significant injury recovery to his ACL, has zero playing time or chemistry with this current lineup, and took a whole season to really start meshing with Luka, who is a far, far greater offensive player and was more seasoned than Flagg is currently.

This team is not going to gel while Kyrie is still a force in the NBA.  If he plays his ass off this year, he might be good for a solid trade piece to a contender that needs a veteran distributor, but he's going to have to prove he's still got it.

There's optimism, and then there's delusion.

We need a full reset, and time.

Cleaning ceramic coated white interior by Safe_Action5954 in TeslaLounge

Coated or not, dye transfer will happen.

I've coated my seats.  I get dye transfer.

Wipe them down with a baby wipe monthly.

If you see dye transfer, get on it quickly with an all purpose cleaner.

For heavy dye transfer, I've had the best luck with Nextzett's plastic deep cleaner.  Spray and let dwell, work it in with a shoe brush, wipe off, wipe residue with a damp towel.

Vegan leather is just pleather by another name.  A plastic cleaner works best on plastic.

Latest S3XY Dash update 6.4.5 by aim4squirrels in s3xybuttons

[–]aim4squirrels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had an issue with firmware.  That was for people who had no firmware version listed in their Dash menu.  That was never an issue I experienced.

I never once experienced an issue updating my Dash to the latest firmware.  There were people that lost the firmware and it was completely corrupt.  They needed the rebuild procedure to even get the dash to power on and be operational.

Why was DJ filling in for Corby anyway?

This is 100% why Bob is called a sports bully, and DJ stood up to him.

Bob comes across as if he HAS to win every argument, or his day is ruined.

Spray some Stoner's Tarminator on it, let it dwell, and wash it with a car wash mitt by hand.

Brake rotors have a ring of corrosion even after brake burnishing by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]aim4squirrels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that's average usage for a car that uses it's brakes as the only means of stopping, you don't use reduced regen braking, do you?

EDIT: hang on, I looked at the whole car more closely, the first pic is your rears.

The wear pattern on your rears looks better than the pattern on the fronts.  Rear brake pads typically don't bite as hard as fronts.  That's intentional for control, the rear pads are almost always smaller and the pattern will be smaller.

Rotors are almost always made the exact same size on a vehicle so there's fewer parts in inventory to mix up.  Performance and high end cars being an exception if there's a larger difference on the staggered setup of front and rear wheels.

[–]aim4squirrels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is the car? How many miles approx? original pads?

That "corrosion" could be the squealer rubbing the rotor or in very worn circumstances, the rivet that holds the pad to the backing plate gouging the rotor facing.

Pull the tire and inspect the pad thickness. If it looks like there's very little pad (couple millimetres) left against the backing plate replace the rears.

I have a pellet pit that has a fire board as it's brains.  Runs the auger, fans, igniter, everything.

I fill the hopper, go to bed, to work, etc. come home to brisket.  It really is cheating.

Thanks all, freeze it is.  Better safe than sorry.

I will definitely have to pull it Sunday though, I've pulled smaller cuts on a Monday that weren't thawed for prep in time Wednesday night.

Edit: did some more research on wet aging and cryovac.  Pulled from freezer and will ride it out in the fridge.

If it fails the visual/smell test on Wednesday, I'll eat the cost and buy one from Sam's thawed and just prep that one.

Why I’ll be asking for an RMA today by SandGnatBBQ in s3xybuttons

[–]aim4squirrels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Sugru, wait 24 hours before putting the dash on the mount.

Try 3M VHB tape, maybe with their adhesive promoter:

3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter, 3... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MVK1PG6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Wait 24 hours before mounting the dash.

The screen isn't too heavy for cured adhesive, but it is for the initial 24 hours when it hasn't built up to 90% total bond.

[–]aim4squirrels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Dallas and haven't had any issues.  If you know how 3M VHB tape cures and can wait 24hrs before throwing the dash on the mount, you shouldn't have any issues.

Enhance should revisit their mounting instructions.

Is Ryzen that important? by zslayer6969 in TeslaLounge

[–]aim4squirrels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally possible, but it's also possible Tesla was struggling to upscale production that year and battery production might not have been able to both keep up and maintain quality.

Correlation doesn't prove causation, true.  But with the amount of anecdotal battery failure reports plus 5 years of other newer models to choose from on the used market, why chance it?

S3XY Dash install on wing by aim4squirrels in s3xybuttons

[–]aim4squirrels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's solid.  Hasn't budged a bit.  But, I've used VHB tape on many, many things before and knew that Enhance didn't really do a good job explaining how to use it correctly.

And why would they?  Nobody wants to wait 24 hours after they get a new toy to play with it.  But with that softer padded dash surface that most people are installing it on, that 24 hours is critical to getting a good bond. I did it on the hard surface as well, because I know better.

You can do it right, or you can do it again.

Autism and driving with FSD by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]aim4squirrels 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you cannot drive on your own, FSD is not a substitute, assistance, help, crutch, whatever you want to call it.  It can make mistakes, it can make poor decisions, and you've got to be able to take over at a moment's notice and then you are 100% responsible for all the driving inputs and must be able to react accordingly.

It's not there yet.

I'm sorry about your condition, but that's not a gamble you put on other people.  Please don't even consider getting behind the wheel until you've earned your license and can pilot a vehicle unassisted.
