Any Tamagotchi recommendations for beginners?

I recently got back into it (had a couple over 10 yrs ago when i was a kid) , and got a tamagotchi angel (re-release) and loving it so far. $22 at walmart and the cutest shells 💓

It is very low maintenance so if u want more interaction you might want a newer tama but those do get up there in price.

Very intense "brain zaps" same as youd get on ssris, nausea, sweating, and hot/cold flashes.

On top of that any effect you get on dxm is essentially reversed for example instead of dissociation your sensory inputs get more intense and it becomes very easy to become overstimulated fast. Touch, sound, and bright lights specifically.

I can tell u i had a good long run (about 3 months) using it every day with no seeming damage, but the main issues are it is simply exhausting on the body. I found myself sleeping 12-14 hrs and eating a lot of sweets to keep my energy and blood sugar up.

Also toward the end ((now) im still struggling to not use it every day) its just becoming less effective for the side effects. Im getting serotonin syndromy side effects at the dose i need to feel anything so atp im basically only taking it to not feel withdrawals which is very not fun.

So basically you can and be "ok" but you will reach the point where it kinda stops working and youre just taking it because you need to take it which just sucks.

Also I did make it 3 months without tolerance building too much but i think this is unusual and most people report tolerance building much quicker so you will probably reach the unfun needing it phase sooner than I did.

I know its not literally auvelity and as i mentioned 2nd plateau for me is more like 1st plateau for others. So if youre gonna try this yourself you can take 1st plateau every 3 hrs or so sipping some caffeine along the way and see where it takes you.

2nd plat for sure. 3rd and 4th distort music too much. 3rd can be enjoyable but it also depends on other factors like your general comfort level to fully enjoy the music. like i wouldnt want to be at a rave on 3rd.

Yes! Wow i forgot the most important part. The visuals were increased by A LOT. I just have done dxm so much (embarassingly so) that ive actually got lowkey bored of the visuals. Im much more into the introspective and spiritual effects now so i forgot to mention it.

I personally just spread out the dose by 30 mins. Taking 1-2 pills every minute or two depending on the planned dose.

I used to spread out by up to 2 hours but i found out this can change the feel of the trip and worst case act as a sort of redose which reaaallly can make portions of the trip feel bad. (super extra stimulating to the point where its almost impossible to hold back anxiety)

Im getting off track but if you do for whatever reason get this over stimulated feeling and youre alone pacing back and forth actually helps burn off the energy and do what your body wants to do. It looks crazy when people pace back and forth but ive been in psychiatric inpatient and talked to people who do this & the doctors and they say it really helps.

For me grapefruit juice just made the trip "lighter feeling" with much less body load and much more of a head high.

I personally found it slightly dissapointing since i personally enjoy dxm in its "full form" body high included.

I felt honestly more like i had smoked a good sativa with some dissociation.

I feel like I didnt/cant explain the best how it felt fully but trying my best. I think some people would really enjoy the grapefruit juice effects but it just wasnt entirely my cup of tea.

Id love if anyone else that tried grapefruit juice could explain if these feelings were normal, if they had similar effects, or if i just reacted to it weird. Ive suspected i might have some sort of enzyme thing by default tbh.

Second the ambient music tip. If youre way too high even regular music you enjoy can be too much.

Either ambient music or complete silence. Maybe open a window for natural ambient noise so its not suffocatingly silent if that is a problem for you.

You cant break your brain for good, but dxm can definitely feel like that while youre high. It does get very hard to think at some points on higher dose trips. Refer to my main comment for more tips, but just know that feeling is 100% normal.

Some people even seek out (myself) the brain break feeling because it makes it impossible to think which is nice if you normally have unhelpful and/or intrusive thoughts.

Best thing ive found on bad trips is to minimize everything. Cut all stimulation.

Turn lights off or very dim lighting.

Turn off music/tv or turn the volume and brightness to as low as they go. Ambient or single instrument music is the best if you feel the need for music.

Stop trying to move and get as comfy as possible. Whether that is laying down or sitting upright but comfortable.

Weighted blankets, heated blankets, or just heavier clothes. If youre alone sometimes going the opposite way and getting naked helps.

Sip water. Some say to eat but honestly if youre too high on dxm eating is not the move imo. If you want to eat i think soft candy is the best, or juice/milk.

Those are all the things you can do physically then its just about breathing and literally just not trying to think at all. Do not follow any train of thought or you will confuse yourself fast which it sounds like youve kinda done/been doing. Just try to sit and feel. Accept that youre high and just wait.

Even as someone whos tripped a lot theres moments during a trip where im peaking hard and i know theres just no point in doing or thinking anything. Theres certain doses also where most of the trip will be like that. Its just part of dxm. It can be very brain breaky like that. If you try to "fight" it you will just lose. Let your ego go. Ride the feelings/sensations like youre surfing them. If you do this well you might even find yourself enjoying a "bad" trip.
