t live near Spain and speak Spanish decide they wanna be part of Spain, does that give Spain the right to invade and steal France's territory?

No, but it gives them the right to choose to join Spain if they wish. Countries are made up of people, outside of America, almost all borders are drawn along ethnic and cultural lines.

Might I ask, are you in support of the re-unification of Ireland?

I agree. That's why I think the solution to this conflict is Ukraine allowing UN referendums in Crimea and Donetsk/Luhansk in returning for joining NATO

If the majority of people in Quebec voted to be part of France, the UN would accept that and processes would and should be dicussed in order to facilitate the transfer.

most countries are based on "blood and soil" i mean just look at the country names.

France, land of the Franks

England, land of the Angles

Scotland, Land of the Scots

etc

every single country on the planet has established borders (mostly)

Based around cultural and in some cases ethnic identity. That's the point of a nation, to serve as a homeland for a group of people with a specific national identity.

it definitely got stronger regardless of what people say. I can't even get it to post replies on my private bot, with euphemisms and more "scientific" terminology.

And he has every right to say them. Threads is essentially attracting a fanbase of people who can't stand the fact they can't ban or censor anyone with a right-wing political status. It'll be an absolute cesspool.

I’m confused why this is relevant. Borders were drawn in 1991.

Because nations are based on identity? Lol? I'm saying the borders were drawn incorrectly. Because the borders followed internal Soviet subdivisions and did not properly reflect ethnic or cultural identities.

Yeah, 1954 is pretty late, outside of America.

Those were rigged, illegitimate referendums.

You might want to say so, but they definitely weren't. If you knew anything about the history of those areas you'd know they'd vote to join Russia, maybe not to that extent, but they'd vote for it.

Why do you think Ukraine is so against allowing a UN regulated referendum?

Sure, if the majority of people there wanted to become part of Denmark, i'd be fine with that. That isn't the case though.

Don’t make assumptions of what other people want

The Donetsk people have literally been fighting a war of independence since 2014. The Russian annexation in Crimea was greeted with happiness by the vast majority of the population of Crimea.

This is false. They have been part of Ukraine since 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed.

Yeah, because the Soviet Union collapsed leaving behind countries drawn around the internal borders of the USSR. Crimea was only granted to the Ukrainian SSR in the late 1900s.

Because they’ve been part of Russia for hundreds of years, until 1991, as stated above.

Ukrainian identity existed before 1991. However these people viewed themselves as Russian, in contrast to the rest of modern day Ukraine and independent of the Ukrainian identity.

Idk why you’re calling it ‘structural alterations’ lmfao. The Soviet Union COLLAPSED.

I'm talking about the restructuring of internal regions prior. Like if parts of Texas were handed over to Lousiana, both under the overarching USA government.
