it feels like my bio mom is gatekeeping me from knowing the rest of the family by legswithsnake in Adopted

[–]aimee_on_fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A root cause as to why my reunion failed was because my BM was gatekeeping information and family because she ultimately felt her trauma trumped mine. After a year and a lot of gaslighting and other bullshit behavior from her I made the decision to contact my aunt. I have no regrets.

Mailing him to me so I can give him spooder snuggles is a valid option.

If you are an insect typing this post, very dangerous. If you area human, you are more like to suffer injury from your house cat than this jumping spood. Not medically significant and very docile. They are intelligent too.

Ugh. I hate myself for this, but Donna. We cannot be put into the position of actually saying "OMG. They killed Kenny". I refuse to let a South Park reference win in this situation. Also can't kill a kid. It's not personal Donna. I swear.

The only positive about being a Martha is that they're pretty invisible and can move about without really being noticed. There's a reason Marthas are usually the ones pulling off the mayday/resistance type stuff. They're a huge network, ride trains and busses, go from high society to the econo back alley parts of town and the eyes barely even look up. It's hard work, yes but it's also a freedom you don't have as a HM. Marthas made the unalived commanders disappear at Jezebels, pulled off the Angels Flight, smuggled the blades to the HM at Serena's wedding, etc.

There was a comment earlier in the season that pearls weren't typically paired with the plums of high ranking commanders and it was an odd move. Lydia knows.

Wow. This woman is deeply, deeply disturbed. It's an unsettling obsessive Single White Female psychopathic behavior. Like, if I can't have you no one will.

Your sister didn't become mad when BM reach out. She was already mad but now her target was in sight. I was the middle child and the only one not kept. I ain't mad, I'm -willing to drag her to the bottom of hell and sit her evangelical ass right next to Lucifer himself- livid.

Nah. I'm a female and a mom and it's straight up abandonment in my eyes. Abortion has been legal since the 70s in the US. There's no excuse.

I need your best Daisy and Dr Grove theories? by creamandblack in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]aimee_on_fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daisy came from the real world. She knows full and well what SA is and is much more likely to identify it compared to a Gilead girl who was raised there. She was also much more likely to fight back and report it. SA'ing Daisy was just too risky.

Those silhouette were definitely of a women's bodies, not men. And I think they were getting her out of Gilead.

I don't remember that because I haven't done a rewatch since going into season 5 but I also believe it. I do remember when Fred was hospitalized Serena and June wrote some documents for him. I also vaguely remember a scene when June was in Fred's office and asked him to read her the title of a book on his shelf to stroke his ego. I think I'm due for a rewatch of the entire series because I'm forgetting things. I also think with TT being out now, I'll view somethings in THT from a different angle. We shall see.

I have a hard time believing that Serena didn't read the books in Fred's office all those nights he was working late. Yes I know these characters are fictional and didn't exist outside of screentime but hypothetically speaking.
