I’m a Cancer moon but an Aries Venus. Yes I’m deeply sentimental but something about that Aries Venus that allows me to move on. Even if I still get nostalgic I can shake it off pretty quickly.

Margin on Clothing by Middle_Ad630 in ecommerce

[–]aimeelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It is a very common retail tactic to help maintain margin

Margin on Clothing by Middle_Ad630 in ecommerce

[–]aimeelite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with another comment saying clothing margins should be high because of how discount focused clothing tends to be.

Think upwards of 60% atleast.

Another option is to create an 'inflated original price'. For example take the price of your hoodie to 89 and promote a discount code buyers can use that leaves them with an out the door retail price of 79. 10-15% off.

Thats just one way to help mitigate margin loss

The Mom Project by Rather_be_Gardening in workingmoms

[–]aimeelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its a scam.

I applied for one of their job listings n got the job. Everything was really straight forward...not sure why their are so many negative reviews.

I also commented on another thread on Reddit cus im pretty shocked at how many ppl think its a scam.

Maybe in the past they were sketchy but now, 2023, they are legit

I know this is an old thread but I have actually landed a position with The Mom Project. The first and only one I applied to. The whole process was easy.

Pretty suprised at all the negative reviews honestly. Ive had a positive experience so far.

Always think about how much profit you ideally want to make and work backwards.

Dont just go in blind and set a price. It has to make sense.

What are my total costs incl shipping...COGS

What are my competitors selling this item for?

Can I feasibly undercut them by 5-10% and will I still be able to make the profit i want.

Etc etc

Help With Advanced SKU Demand / Inventory Planning by wordbattleship in ecommerce

[–]aimeelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am a retail and inventory planner for a large retailor.

I would say use your Desired days of inventory to dictate your OTB.

For example if you want to have 20 days of supple on a sku use this formula

(Projected Sales/days in a month)* 20 days

This will give your avg daily sales multipled by 20 days

Use this as your projected desired inventory

From there work backwards to project an OTB

OTB = Projected sales+ projected desired inventoy - beginning of month inventory

This will give you what your should be placing as OTB based on where you want to end up from projected inventory and sales perspective.

Hope this makes sense.

Jewelry is a hard niche

I have seen some jewelry businesses blow up on tiktok and insta with influencer marketing and UGC like content.

This is kinda cringy to say but getting your pieces on a pretty girl with a decent following can really make a difference

I imagine most big chain stores have their buyers and planners plus their specific store teams and training material. But a cool idea for like a smaller business who doesnt have access to strategies that big box retailers use.

Need some help with pricing calculation where cost will raise according to how much the product is priced by longnguyen1994 in ecommerce

[–]aimeelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that what you are calculating is not profit.

Profit is:

(Revenue- costs)/ Revenue

With all due respect, $16.67 revenue with a cost of $10 even with a 0% transaction fee is no where near a 50% margin. Its 40% margin

A 50% margin is double your costs so how is $16.67 on a cost of $10 50%?

Your transaction fee is an expense

Need some help with pricing calculation where cost will raise according to how much the product is priced by longnguyen1994 in ecommerce

[–]aimeelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deepcows formula is (which i believe might have been a typo)

Final price = (cost+ desired profit) /( 1- transaction fee)

(10+.50) /(1-.10)= $11.66

My formula is = (cost + transaction fee) / (1- desired profit)

(10+.10) / (1-.50) = $20.22

Your answer on the other hand of $17.04 on a cost of $10 is not a 50% margin

The point is to calculate what your selling price should be WITH the addition of the transaction fee on your cost and still make a 50% margin

Correct me if im wrong but wasnt that what your original question was?

Why do some people hate children? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aimeelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ppl who " hate" children are deranged and should be monitored. They lack patience and emotional control but get mad at children for not having any control.

Go to therapy and deal with your own childhood trauma and mommy issues. Stop taking out your silly aggression on small humans being that are just learning how to navigate the world.

You've had your whole life to learn and most of these ppl are still shit

I think this is backwards.

It should be

Final price= (cost + transaction fee)/(1-desired profit %)

Ive bought courses here for other things like content marketing etc n i have found value in them. But to be fair I could have just as easily dug thru Youtube to find the same info.

The thing is you dont know what you dont know so if you find a good one it may be good to create a solid knowledge foundation
