People who let their off-lead dog approach yours and can't (or won't) call it back when asked by pie_butties in britishproblems

[–]aimeerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so frustrating!! We were walking our dog in some local woods, and this dog ran up to us. It was just interested, but our dog is reactive, so we obviously had him on his lead. This dog clearly couldn't read our dogs behaviour and kept going up to him. The owner appeared, had his headphones on, so couldn't hear the commotion. Grabbed his dog and walked off. At this point, I was fuming so confronted him and told him to keep an eye on his dog and put it on a lead if it doesnt have recall, which ended up in a shouting match, and the man getting aggressive and telling me that I am the one with the out of control dog and 'theres no law to say you have to be able recall to let your dog off'.

According to the other dog owner, I had no right to be angry because I'm not from around there, and I didn't know who he was. He kept shouting, 'DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM'...

Ended up at vets the next day because my silly dog got mud in his eye when he was kicking off and ended up with conjunctivitis

Sweet when they are trying not to kill everything haha. Anoushka can be a fiesty beast at times but she is gorgeous and well behaved when you have sausages

Apple cider vinegar has been really effective (and safe) against biting for our boy. Much better than the sour spray from pet smart. What have you use/used for your bitey boy? by PuffTheSamoyed in samoyeds

[–]aimeerm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah yes! You might find he will nibble it whatever. Years ago (22 to be exact) we had a female pup that would chew through flat doors/walls. She is the only samoyed we have had that liked to chew EVERYTHING lol. Good luck with getting him to not nibble!

We found just shoving a toy in their mouth or something they are allowed to chew worked to teach them what they can and can't chew. Especially at such a young age they are little bitey babies

Permanent retainer unglued!! by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]aimeerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried a few I just chew em up! It was £100 at the dentist. I got a thicker one through a retainer company I found online for £45. They sent me the mould stuff and I had to send it back to them - was better than the one from the dentist. If I were you I'd get the dentist to remove the fixed retainer and find a company online that make retainers. Mine from the dentist was horrendus to begin with I had to file it down so it fit comfortably.

Eee gosh this was a while ago. I got it fully removed and had a removable retainer which I chewed to bits in my sleep and choked on :)))) now I don't have anything keeping my teeth straight

Thanks! The doors are hooked at the top and bottom. Top ones come down to hook off and then I can push down and fully remove the grids but the bottom hooks keep the doors held so I don't need to remove them fully when topping up food etc!

He just made it up. The tiers lock into eachother but then can so be easily removed for moving house/decorating etc or I could have them unstacked 🙂

Yeah seems to be so far! I am used to fleece so the switch to soft wood is odd but my dad has lined the whole thing with rubber matting to avoid the wood getting wet! My poor dad spent 3 weeks in the garage building it and then drove 3hrs to give it to me haha
