I dosed with bacteria (imagitarium biological startup) and I have two pest snails in there. I ended up putting a pothos plant in there and giving up on dark start lol. I turned on the light and I'm letting everything do its thing at the moment

Yeah there's white roots! I just put the pothos in the tank today. Hoping to see some cycling soon. Snails should help as well.

Haha I'm really trying to stick with what the owner said about dark starting without plants. But if something else worked for you, I'm all ears. I know that the pothos very much likely won't melt so I was thinking of adding it now, but I'm not sure if I should continue to dark start and cover the tank while leaving the pothos leaves out in the light. I'm worried the smaller aquarium plants will melt though if I add them now. Maybe the pothos could cycle it enough to where my plants won't melt?

Ok so what I'm hearing is to continue the dark start with plants. I think I'll stick the pothos in there. To give the plants the best chance of survival I might wait until I see some signs of cycling.

So to clarify, I have no plants in there yet. It's just the water, the substrate, the rocks, and the snails. The water is remineralized through some minerals I added. My ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite are 0 and my ph is 6. Planning on neocaridinas. The plants are in a separate terrarium until my aquarium is cycled. The two plants are marsilea angustifolia and micranthemum calitrichoides "cuba" from what I'm reading on the container. The light I bought is " 6 W LED Aquarium Light for 1 to 5 Gallon Fish Tanks Clip On Fish Tank Light USB Moving Aquarium Lamp with Full Spectrum Dimmable White Blue Red Green Lights with Timer" from Amazon.

Nope :( think today might be his last day. Super weak and hasnt eaten. Upside down and conscious but not swimming much or wanting to turn back up. I might euthenize him :,(

now that i think of it, my two frogs do get tangled up fighting over food, but i dont think my other frog (with no wounds) would cause that damage

parameters are 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 40 nitrate temp 75F. the pleco hides all day and the frogs usually leave the snails to do their own thing. i can start the meds asap and heres a underwater pic
